That is a strange building and location for the first one in Regina. I've seen the renos as I drive by there every day and it didn't look like a Popeyes Chicken to me.

The first location in Calgary was in an old Taco Bell along an aging commercial strip backing onto residential. It caused massive traffic and parking headaches for six months. The location didn’t matter because the word of mouth about the food was that good

I think it also helps that Popeye's is probably the only place here that will have affordable fast-food seafood That'll be a plus

Also I drove by the mixed use building across from that with Quan's/Selloff Vacations in it and saw a sign for Thai Express opening soon. There's still 5-6 unannounced places in there as well.

Confirmed it's co-habitation housing. IMHO it sounds like a bunch of hippies living there. Friend of a friend is building the place. From what he's saying, all the unit buyers are currently testing out living together at a place in town here so that they can get to know each other better and find 'co-habitation harmony' with each other before moving into this building when it's complete. Lots of open, communal spaces with very small personal units for sleeping.

It may work fine for the first while because everyone knows everyone and they all trust each other but what happens when some of the original residents move out and maybe some not-so-trustworthy people move in? This whole peace, love & happiness way of living may go out the window.

Minhas set to build new multi-million dollar distillery in Regina By Shawn Knox

Minhas Sask Ventures Inc. announced on Monday that they will be building a new distillery and winery in Regina.

The multi-million dollar project includes construction of a state-of-the-art building for the new distillery and winery as well as a public tasting room, off sales retail and a gift shop.

The distillery will be built at 444 McLeod Street in Regina and it will be the largest distillery and winery in Saskatchewan.
The new facility will employ 20 people starting in mid-January and will produce a wide variety of products such as spirits, liqueurs, wines and ready to drink cocktails.

Minhas is saying there are two main reasons for doing business in Regina, great business-friendly environment promoted by the Saskatchewan Government and a desire to contribute to their Saskatchewan economy by creating manufacturing jobs.

In Saskatchewan’s 112 years, almost all the distillery and wine products sold in the province have been imported from the rest of the country and the world. This new facility will try and reverse the flow by replacing the shipments from outside the province with Saskatchewan packaged products, while also exporting Saskatchewan packaged products to Alberta, Montana and California.

Minhas has already purchased a variety of world class high tech equipment for this project from the Netherlands, Bulgaria, USA, China and Saskatchewan.

It has to be the TD bank building which is had ongoing glazing/curtainwall replacement.

Sounds right - but I drive by every day & I don't recall a crane being there recently... lots of cladding & scaffolding, but not a crane. I could be wrong, though.

There is no crane, but I would guess there will be a mobile crane coming.

Artful Dodger is closing. The owners can't absorb the rental increase. They are going to reopen something else in a new location in 2018.
