Yes, but even if there were signs you wouldn't see it anyway. Penn West location isn't even in the pic, and Palliser south would be blocked by the Saddledome.

Guys, seriously. If you do a reverse Google search on the image, you can see it's from early 2006.

All - someone recently described this forum as a dumpster fire. I resisted posting a note agreeing with their assessment. Yes, we should be comfortable and free to discuss and debate, but also should have some handle on how petty some things are, and stop the trigger typing fingers when such things are getting more coverage than required.

So please put out the dumpster fire!

That's not a reliable way to date a photo. Exif Info is only as accurate as the settings of the camera. If you take a look at the Exif info, you'll see that the photo shows it being taken at midnight. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it wasn't taken a t midnight.

And it doesn't take a literature professor to notice that was you pointed out was already pointed out by one of the people your replying to.

Let's settle the whole photo debate with *photo taken sometime between 2005-2007*

Quite the opposite. There used to be a tower there once upon a time and it was torn down.

Exactly. Not that I have anything against 10 year old pics of Calgary's skyline, but.....

No new tower, those construction sea cans are for other work going on at SAIT and the old tower that existed there was Owasina Hall - I resided there from 1979-81 while attending SAIT.

Daemon - since you seem to be somewhat mobile during daylight hours, if it possible, scoot NW from SAIT at your next opportunity to the university campus. There is something coming up along the north edge that seems substantial, and then on the NW portion, there are I think six or so condo blocks coming up right now, along with lots of work that has happened in the extreme NW corner for a pond and park area (which will be the north end of a channel that cuts NNW-SSE to the east side of the duck pond). This stuff is all large-scale construction that I think should/could become one of the exciting regions of focus for this thread.

Problelm I don't have a car. I have however the time, and I take my dog for walk almost each day. Some day perhaps it will be possible.
