Nobody has published a third-party list here that even attempts to cover "importance" in a broader sense. It's possible. Even the best list would only be true within a given definition, which would have to be made clear to readers but generally wouldn't be once it hit the mass market.

As for what's world class (though I thought the topic was importance), did you really think through your question? I'd say "world class" most commonly means the best of something, or the upper echelons of something. Are multinationals the only firms who qualify as among the best?
World class is subjective as well.
