That looks like formwork for the ground floor slab.

Woohoo! This lady's been taking a bit to rise. Hopefully things continue going consistent.

It only took 4 years (2013-2017) to get to ground level! Great job Claridge! Can't wait for your next bait and switch!

Has it really been that long? So I guess it took about 2 years for excavation, nearly 1 year when the site was mostly idle after the tragic incident, and the past year of building the parking garage.

Here's hoping for a fast rise up to the 45th floor!

I'm pretty sure construction didn't start until 2015.

When interviewed about the plans back when it started, Claridge did say that they expected hitting ground level to mark the halfway point of construction.

Yep. They also said that it would be 4-5 years of construction, and self-financed the build, so they are not that far off.

I passed through Carling avenue and I saw a covered sidewalk as the building is going up.

A new availability chart has been put up on the Icon website. By my estimate, around 40% of the units are now sold.

Does anyone know who will be leasing the ground floor commercial space? I wonder how many floors up they will need to be before they start installing the cladding on the ground floor and how many floors up they will be when the ground floor opens for business.

I read in the ottawa citizen that 2 floors of the commercial space will be taken by Claridge themselves. The founder is taking the top penthouse unit for himself and they are expecting a restaurant on the ground floor.

According to their sales site, they are now approaching 40% units sold so they are in fairly good shape with this project though it has taken a longer time to build than initially forecast.

This building is really going to be visible from the Airport Parkway as you come into the city.

Happy to see it rising but not excited to see the cladding go up (I am expecting ugly grey panels, like leftovers of TriBeCa or Andaz), you know, whatever material was on sale/clearence when Claridge designed this thing.

As in the first floor is a restaurant, and then Claridge is moving their offices from Gladstone here for 2 of the 6 office floors? Hm... That's interesting.

I like that this building will be mixed-use like this (office, retail and residential?), but it'd be nice for more than just a restaurant.

Yeah really... Preston has enough restaurants! I want a Shoppers Drug mart or an LCBO!
