I'm stoked about the final product of this project, can't wait to live here.

If I may also throw in my two cents of speculation, I predict and I sure hope the large commercial anchor tenant on P2 becomes a grocery store (T&T would be awesome).

PS this is my first post, so I hope I referenced and credited this image properly!
Ugh hope to god it isn't T&T anywhere near your building. I lived in the Paris building right above the T&T at Stadium and it was an ungodly nightmare. The smells that would somehow sneak into the lobby were the most disgusting thing on the planet. I had friends out right say they would never come over again due to it.

Also the constant fish guts/heads everywhere outside the building... avoid at all costs.

Property values take a hit in that building from it.

There must be a problem with the ventilation from the garbage room. That or the smell is sneaking through some opening in a plenum or wall.

Shape sees Sears closure as opportunity

Shape Properties sees the closure of Sears as clearing the way and providing more options for the redevelopment of the northeast quadrant of the Brentwood redevelopment.

Speaking of opportunities, whereas Sears is permanently closing down during Brentwood's transformation, it is rumoured that the tiny Coles bookstore in Brentwood will be opening a large format Chapters/Indigo style store in the Amazing Brentwood retail area currently under construction.

From the webcam today.
That's a lot of blank wall a grade in the East Mews passage.

Keep the retailers happy at least.

Hopefully something interesting gets put up on outside. Living wall, etc.

I see what may be a recess on the wall at grade
- but it's under a large overhang - so not much light for a living wall.

Video screens, perhaps? Seems like it would make for good advertising and information space.

If this project seriously turns out as depicted (with the layered walkways, weather protected areas, direct overpass connections to skytrain, and animated video screens around the commercial zones, then this will become my favorite major development in Metro-Vancouver.

Something different from all of the boring tower in the park street level only master plans that are currently popular in our region.

On the webcam shot, above, is the structure over the roadway the floor or roof of the overhead walkway?
Seems hard to figure out when it reaches the mall at the north end (low head room?).

..... I have been thinking about that myself.

I believe that the structure may be the roof because of the following observations:

1) There is no headroom on the south end of the structure (left-hand side in picture). (visible from the carpark just outside the current mall entrance)
2) Low headroom on the north end as observed by Officedweller. (Notice how the worker on the walkway stands taller than the roof of the podium on the right-hand side)
3) There are "little spikes" on top of the overhead walkway. (There are similar "spikes" on top of the other roofs)

What do you guys think?

Thanks.
Makes sense.
The spikes are probably for an anti-fall cable system for workers to hook onto.

I was thinking that they might jack it up to the roof of the north podium (because the ceiling height of the bridge seems low)
- but why not built at finished height?

That also means that the internal roadway will have fairly low clearance under the bridge? Hard to tell with those high commercial ceilings.

Totally agreeing with you there.

Let's see what they will do next

Just wonder if the Marine Gateway in Vancouver has the same issue?

I lived in that building for almost 10 years and that's a very gross exaggeration. Just about everyone we knew highly appreciated the T&T downstairs. There were far more smells (of urine) at the entrance of 555 Abbott and the occasional broken window once or twice a year. The problems that we and others experienced were actually mice in the lower floors of the complex.

Regular 2 bedroom units in Paris Place are currently selling for the high $900k range so no, for a 1993 build, property values have absolutely not taken a hit.

I've never smelled anything rank coming from the TnT at MG. The transfer station across the street is a different story however.
