I'm not too familiar with the project itself, although foxmccleod has previously said "I have seen drawings that show two additional towers above the pavilion, surrounding the skylight. The plan shown above has two grey bars that represent two future tower cores".

This image shows what the base of the two additional towers would look like. Still have to speculate on their height. I think its a good bet that at least one of them will have a hotel component.

Whoah two hulking white/clean/pristine towers there would be really awesome. Considering the width of each base, they appear to be pretty large proposals.

The PDF's on the right give it away, a hotel and condo! 200+ future condos (along 14th st, appears to be pretty massive) and 200 key future hotel (northernmost tower, thinner width than the other two towers, likely shorter).

The Midtown Tomorrow rendering I made years ago, and they just plopped a big rectangle over Opus and labeled Opus Place. I wouldn't put much stock in that.

I hope they retain the white color. It seems that most often when we see white windows in renderings they end up getting VE'd to blue or black when it comes time for construction. White would be so fitting close to The High.

I absolutely agree. That said, I believe the Opus No.2 is also white in the renderings (as seen on the bottom left image you quoted) until they focus on the actual building, so I'm not sure what to expect. IMO, the white would be a classic and instantly recognizable addition to the skyline.

Ah, yes you are correct. Perhaps they're just using white as a "stand in" to show general massing. It looks so cool though!

The white looks really good, but I'd suspect every bit of glass to be blue even if the rest of the building was white... I do not know of any white glass skyscrapers. I'd love to be wrong, though!

The only one that comes to mind is the IAC building in New York by Gehry.

I believe that is just a somewhat opaque coating over a traditional blue window from the looks of it though. It would be really unique to have a truly translucent white.

And you call yourself a lover of architecture? - j/k. Richard Meiers, the architect for the High Museum and the Cultural Pavallion/Opus No.1, is famous for using white. He is definitely in my Top 5.

Those are cool buildings but I think we meant white windows, not just white buildings. Looks like the windows on those are still either transparent or light blue.

My favorite architect, Santiago Calatrava, is also obsessed with white. RIP Chicago Spire.
