Can we change the thread title to the scaled down 53 stories? Too disappointing to continually see the 74 stories every time there's a new post.

Agree that was my doing when it was. I did call the leasing office yesterday and pretended like I was a potential buyer and told her I was extremely disappointed at the delay, she assured me that it will break ground before the end of the year, FWIW...

Yes, a little detective work....I told her I was leary about the project and she quickly amped up her response to assure that it is a definite GOGO...

Hey BS - how about you call Jeff Bezos @ Amazon and tell him you are Kasim Reed and you are calling to let him know you have another corporate relocation interested in the Gulch site and you wanted to give Amazon the right of first refusal and see what he says.

BS - I had a "situation" with Comcast that has stopped me from impersonating/threatening via the telephone.

But I am cheering you on Brah!

No 2 Opus Place newsletter

This sounds like there should definitely be work on the site by years end.

The developer is picking up the Land Disturbance Permit by next week from the city! This is not cheap (approx. $200K) and represents a major milestone as we will now be allowed to bring heavy equipment on the site, clear the property, and start the initial groundwork/excavation.

GROUNDBREAKING BY YEAREND:
The LDP above is the last step prior to an official GroundBreaking which is still on track to take place before yearend.
1-BR "C-STACK" SOLD OUT:
We are proud to announce that our one-bedroom C-stack is now SOLD OUT! We have started a waiting list in case some of these do not make it to binding agreement status. This momentum has already started to carry over into the smaller 2-BR plans which are now selling quickly. Let me know ASAP if you want to get on the waiting list.

BRISK SALES
We are selling quickly (in fact we sold 5 more homes last week)! It is a true testament to our design/amenities/floorplans and pricing which are all resonating extremely well with the marketplace. With these contracts I would venture to guess that we are the quickest selling new construction project right now in Atlanta.
Typically when a developer begins sitework there is usually a surge in sales as well as an additional price increase. If you are still interested I highly encourage you to make an appointment as the longer you wait the less homes you will have to chose from and the higher the prices will be.

We are open 6 days a week (M-F 11am-6pm and Sunday Noon-5pm). Appointments are highly suggested. Let me know what day and time work best for you!

THANKS! And hopefully looking forward to working with you.

-Matt

Technically, Eviva did say the 4th quarter of 2017 (which is through the end of December). So there's still have a bit more time yet before getting disappointed again.

Crane Watch: Dirt to start moving on 53-story Midtown condo tower
https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news...ch-dirt-to-start-moving-on-53-story.html

Atlanta civil engineering company Reeves Young has been hired for excavation of the four-acre site. It could begin in about two weeks, said Karen Rodriguez, with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties. The work could take at least four months because of the large amount of stone underneath the site.

Probably the most exciting thing about this project to me is the added stock of condos in Midtown. I'm curious if the other Opus towers will be residential as well.

Great! This is like the cherry on the top of this growth cycle for Midtown.

These didn't age well. Librarian just couldn't help himself.

LOL @ Sura, Libertarian's predictions certainly live up to his name's feasibility as a form of government.
