What a sad little dweeb. As if he would have done anything better. He would have been far worse, as his feuding with Mulroney would have precluded bringing that personal contact of Trump's in to help. Certainly Trump seems to get along with Trudeau better than most other leaders, and Justin seems to return the favour by not going for the easy slam. Perhaps it is the "celebrity" status of both that creates a bit of a bond of understanding. The wooden and aloof Harper wouldn't have found any common point of reference.

Am I the only person that quite likes these? Agreed execution could be improved, but most suburban housing these days has no specific 'look' at all, it's mostly just cheaply formed wooden framing with a facade made to imitate some known house design from another time.

At least the houses in the image look modern and aren't trying to fake the look of something else.

I’m horrified to imagine what Harper would have done to appease Trump. He certainly would have also pulled us out of the Paris accord. Race to the bottom. Trudeau has pissed me off with a few things but at least he hasn’t rushed to meet Donald Trump’s pig trough standards. Harper probably cheered when Scott Pruit became head of the EPA.

I'm with you as well, they're decent. Good density too. Stylistically, that's at least better than the cheesy fake heritage rowhousing that we often see, IMO.

The apparent "wasted space" in the front is actually a good idea because that's where the trees and plants will go.

IMO, there's way uglier stuff around than that.

St. John's especially would likely be orders of magnitude more soul-sucking in terms of built form that many kms from the center.

The smaller apartment buildings look pretty bad, though the taller tower being hidden in the image looks much more disgusting with the random balcony additions and accessorized materials. If you painted over the smaller buildings in the dark grey from the tiles in the first two floors and removed the wooden-coloured growths, it would look dull but a bit more attractive. At first I was thinking of Waterloo when it comes to the taller bub/building.

Stuff like this below depresses the crap out of me. So much so that I avoid areas where I might see something like it.
