stumbled across a channel on youtube which shows all kinds of things going on ddown there, its quite interesting. Does Vancouver have a similiar channel showing projects and things going on?
heres a project to watch and see how it goes to help the homeless
Great if the homeless are genuinely unfortunate folks running out of luck but want to get back to being normal again. Here in Vancouver, many are addicts who have their mental health stained by abuses, with some even habitually committing petty crimes to help feed their habit. How can house owners trust them to give their backyard homes to these people? Would you?
I showed this to some friends out in Europe and they were quite taken aback. Like their perception of reality got turned up side down. This one clip is pretty telling of the priorities out here and the reality bellow the pretty surface.

Yup, another woodframe structure gone up in smokes, literally. The region should compile a list of the lost of properties and lives due to woodframe fires, and the total amount we could've saved if not for this type of construction.
This is no joke The page only shows a sampling in October, 2017:
Another woodframe in Langley gutted. This time the losses include many classic muscle cars on display. Again why are we still building woodframes? Are they worth the risks of financial as well as human life losses?
this is somewhere in mt pleasant, can't figure out where, has anyone seen it?

That mural is on 325 West 4 Ave, The northwest corner of 4th and Alberta. There's another vibrant mural that I like nearby on the Jukebox Print building at 165 West 4th Ave.
Break-ins in Shaughnessy and the West Side record huge increase, thanks to all the empty houses there. Sucks if you actually live there:
Shaughnessy residents are now questioning whether the empty houses that have become common in their neighbourhood are contributing to an increase in break-ins. Joanne Lewis, a neighbour of Cullen’s, has rented a home in the neighbourhood for two years and was surprised to notice just how many homes sit empty — some for years.
There have been a number of break-ins in the neighbourhood since Lewis moved in. A fire at a $14 million house in the historic First Shaughnessy area on Oct. 22 has only heightened Lewis’ fears: police have called the fire "suspicious".
“It needs to be monitored,” she said of the empty homes. “Because the people who are remaining have to put up with this crap...”
