Yeah, I was refering to the pomo design with setbacks. Also, 88 Scott is only partially a glass tower, the rest of it could be compare to that proposal on St-Jacques. I'm totally speculating about whom the architects could be, but this is a project by the same promoter of L'Avenue, also a deisgn by P+S.

Peter Adelaide - the marketing name for 350 Adelaide - is a huge improvement over the previous tacky design. Looks like nimbytect is inspiring architects everywhere!

Cool building but last I heard this one is delayed. From what I remember, the developer wanted to build micro-suites but the City isn't keen on that plan.

They fit in exactly where they are proposed. This is a prominent style synonymous to Montreal. I don't see any similarities between these towers and Cityplace.

Of course you don’t Whipper because it was an observation made be me and you are being your predictable self as always. Lager podiums, mediocre designs and scales all match Cityplace. Montreal has been building much better then this lately. This is just a boring lack lustre design much and could fit right in with between Spadina and Bathurst. WS at what age do I need to worry about waking and have morphed over night into a bitter old man? LOL

Agreed. This is very much "Montreal style". The architects are Menkès Shooner Dagenais LeTourneux, who collaborate often with Saucier + Perotte and have a very good track record for quality design (they are responsible for the YUL project, one of my favorite under construction). I'm VERY glad that Devimco hired them for this 7-towers project that will transform the western part of downtown.

Mediocre design ? Boring ? I think these buildings promise to be elegant and I'm sure they will be of decent quality. But I'm not surprise because you very rarely like Montreal projects and never miss a chance to bash them. Part of the game, I know. But you are very transparent.

This is a style that has been played out over and over again across Toronto and it's burbs. To me "Montreal Style" has a much more refined look then this cookie cutter proposal.

What makes it more of a Montreal style? Is it the dark cladding?

If you just posted the picture without any reference to where it is, I would not be able to pinpoint that it was a Montreal proposal. I could probably safely rule out Vancouver, since Vancouver doesn't do slabs, but it could plausibly be built anywhere from Toronto to Edmonton to Halifax.
