Slowest built building in the history of this city. I think they've been working on it for 26 months now. Looks like they have at least 4 more months to go.

Where Atlanta Stacks Up - Apartment Deliveries

This is shocking Atlanta is 8th on this list given Atlanta ranks 3rd in terms of gross population and employment growth nationwide. Therefore, I see Atlanta's multi-family development trend continue well past the leaders on this list.

Thank you! The density coming to memorial drive will be a nice compliment to the development around the beltline. I don't know how long development between the beltline and downtown can hold out between Edgewood Ave and Memorial.

Is 26 Airline St. the greenfield in front of the new parking deck at Studioplex? Wonder what the plans will be for that lot. They're trying to zone to multifamily residential so it could be apartments or new townhomes.

Nice! When can we expect those giant strip malls around buckhead station to be developed? That and disco Kroger parking lot/strip mall redevelopments would be huge for connecting the area and getting away from a car-centric environment. Was it you that mentioned potential big plans for the strip mall by buckhead station could be announced (relatively) soon?

It was I. The last I heard was the redevelopment of Buckhead Station will progress as soon as the Park Over 400 gets funding.

More details to come in the ABC tomorrow regarding Newport's downtown development, supposedly to include scope and timing. Looks exactly like the type of urban environment people are looking to live in and what feels like has been missing in Atlanta.

It was really brief. The article was essentially a prelude to their beefed up article to be in tomorrow's paper. IMO, the only notable quote:

Those downtown pics remind me of A small Ga city downtown. It looks like downtown Decatur or Savannah. Kinda cheesey for a city Atlantas size but I guess it's better than what's there now

Historic is not cheesy. Cities like Boston, Philadelphia, and Chicago all have areas similar to this within very close proximity to downtown. These buildings 1) already exist in Atlanta, 2) have a higher concentration of retail probably compared to anywhere else in metro Atlanta, and 3) will continue to be supported with concentrated density around this area.
