That slogan isn't all that new, though before last year I think it was only on their website and on signs in the town itself. The MTO put up a lot of new signs along the 401 between Trenton and Kingston last summer, including the Greater Napanee one.

Okotokian or Napaneean? Wide spots on the road. Airdrieish, actually.

I'd like it better if the City of Witches was Situated on a Bay.

Wow that is such a bad slogan. Very matter of fact and geography like. It would be equivalent to having:

Toronto: The city on the west side of lake Ontario
Ottawa: The city that parliament is in
Montreal: The city on the island
London: The 2nd best city bearing the name

I honestly thought the Thunder Bay slogan was a meme/joke.

You mean to tell me... it isn't?

Wow, way to go Thunder Bay for one of the lamest slogans out there. Also Thunder Nays cities website is just awful. The concept is nice but the tag lines go by so fast they are hard to read.

WTH, why is their domain name IChooseTheBay.com while ThunderBay.com is available. Man, I should but that domain name and put nothing but ridiculous jokes about it being on the bay.

The reasoning behind the naming of Alberta's ring roads are:
Calgary 201 - connects highways 2 & 1
Edmonton 216 - connects highways 2 & 16

I think a good thread idea would be to have a collection of those silly road signs proclaiming entry into a particular geographic locale. Such signs (often including some sculpture or landscaping) are found on the fringes of the farming counties around London (Oxford County, Elgin county, Middlesex county, Lambton County, Wellington county, etc.). The more uninteresting the county, the more flamboyant the sign.

"Please observe the 50 km/h speed limit"

I believe that slogan belongs to Elmwood, or one of other rural communities northwest of Kitchener.

Yup, knew that. Just curious as to what's Saskatchewan will chose to number ours. I love driving on the Henday and Stoney so much nicer than it was earlier in my travels. Just hope Calgary can get funding for the last portion of the Stoney from highway 8 to TCH

You guys all thinking that image was literally our city's slogan is the best thing that's happened to me on this forum in a long time. I feel well and truly blessed!! Thank you!!!

BTW, the ichoosetbay campaign is a local civic pride initiative, it's not the city's website. This is: http://www.thunderbay.ca/ and yes, it's outdated. They're going to revamp it next year.

Calgary - 16th Ave NW/Bowfort Rd-Canada Olympic Dr Interchange

The last of my 3 interchange construction videos. It's probably out of date now as this project is moving along quickly.

Thank you my friend! Was it because your Hotel was situated in St-Foy near A73 and/or Laurier Blvd ?

Well, Winnipeg once spent something like a couple million for some sort of branding firm to provide us with a colorful dot. So it could be worse.
