^ One who hates Montréal has obviously never visited to assert such a thing IMO.

Quite literally my favourite place in Canada. I haven't been in 6 years, but I'm trying to find a way to work it in.

So, some anonymous poster on some obscure internet forum doesn't like the Montreal skyline. That's like, his opinion man. No big deal.

I personally fancy the Vancouver skyline over the TO skyline even though the latter is 10 times bigger and taller than the former. Don't like my view? Good for you, mate.

I rather enjoy the Montreal skyline : it's bulky, it's diverse and it's growing really quickly and in all directions. That's good enough for me.

/\ Yeah, no big deal. Then again, it always strikes me as strange when someone, anyone, go out of his way to say that he has no love for a big city with lots of stuff to love, be it Montreal, or Toronto, or Vancouver... I Have yet to find a large city anywhere that doesn't bring me at least a certain level of satisfaction and joy, if not pure bliss.

But, it's true that we are thin-skin about these matters. There is so much Montreal bashing in the media, especially here in Quebec, we get sensitive about it I guess.

Montreal is not an "awesome skyline" city anyway, even if its skyline does have some unique and interesting qualities.

That doesn't mean it's not a great city, even greater than many cities with more impressive skylines.

As far as cities go, good neighbourhoods and street level atmosphere are way more important than skyscrapers to me.

Even at the height of its power and influence, Montreal wasn't a "skyline city". Vancouver and Toronto had us 'beat' in that department since the beginning of the 20th century.

And of course great skylines don't automatically equal great cities. I think everyone on this board can agree with that.

I mean, Berlin and Vienna aren't skyline cities either but they're beautiful and are ranked as global cities economically... doesn't mean shit.

Anyway, we've been through this.
