Vancouver's first neighbourhood pub, the Dover Arns on Denman, closed for good this week. The landlord (reputedly offshore) wants $21k a month for the space! No wonder Denman has such constant vacancies.

Love the ad of the new pizza/salad joint on Cambie.

Anyone mentioned that Burgoo started business at the former 7-11 space across Burrard Street from St Paul's Hospital? Looking good. Also, a new 49th Parallel Coffee shop is opening soon at the Fortis Building lobby. It looks like Main Street is slowly moving its presence downtown.

Interesting that they listed salads before pizzas on the sign.

They are opening another Poke place inside that retail unit in MNP Tower down by Cordova.

Looks like it's a US-based operation:

There's a new restaurant opening at Main and 10th called Ignite Pizzeria - where Waves use to be. Meanwhile up the street at 11th and Main, for lease signs have finally gone up for the space where Grantree Furniture was. That's a pretty large space in a heritage building. Be nice to see a more up scale restaurant in there.

Her guess is in the former Mongolie Grill location.

Chipotle is indeed going in close to Broadway & Cambie. There's signage up in the door of the eastern unit of 532 West Broadway that reads:

will be turned into a showcase area for the city’s transportation planning as well as a hub for learning about the Broadway extension project.

The interior renovation at the Starbucks is a massive improvement. It looks excellent. The exterior is improved as well. I like the wooden door...
