I had absolutely no idea where that photo was taken... outlying skylines are not all that identifiable to non-locals.

I want to do Ottawa justice. Here are the most recent skyline shots I could find.

FFX-ME, WOW!!! Those last 3 photos...is this Ottawa or Prague?? Great photographer, showed off the beautiful vistas of Ottawa without any of the brutalist monstrosities peppered among the golden oldies!

That is my favorite corner of the city where you have the Chateau Laurier, Union station, and the Parliament buildings all together (plus the canal)

I wish Ottawa would have continued to build neo gothic buildings

Though Ottawa is far from the only city that did this, and it would have been unrealistic to have most of the city look like that, it would have been great if they had built more. That's one of the most impressive architectural "precincts" in all of Canada IMO. It's just that it's relatively small.

It is weird how we have views like those ones in Ottawa, though. People tend to associate the broad, bombastic neoclassical architecture of American government buildings and Wall Street with North America, and are probably surprised by vistas like this:

What? That's Canada? Huh?

one of the best Toronto shots I've seen, in terms of showcasing how massive the skyline is. Thanks.

Ottawa notably did continue to build neoclassical building later than most cities, far after the trend ended, so there is a good collection, but it's getting diluted.

Except 2 of the 3 buildings in Gothic Revival?

I just associate neo-classical with American only that the North in your sentence vanished. Canada's defining architectural style is chateau/gothic revival.

Agreed. I might add that Canadian Chateau Style is an architecture almost exclusive to Canada. It's beautiful in its grandeur and something I instantly associate with Canada. I wish we had experimented a great deal more than we did.

You must obviously not know how difficult it is to get good Photo's of Ottawa's Skyline online. For it's size Per-Capita Ottawa has by far the least Skyline Photo's on the Internet & the Least Photographer's of any Major Canadian City. (But to be fair like Victoria Ottawa has no real Skyline), It's just a bunch of Hills, the Occasional Canal Shot, & The Parliament Building's. It's very hard to get everything all in 1 Shot in Ottawa (without using a drone), Which is likely why the vast majority of Ottawa Skyline Shot's are only the partial Skyline. Gatineau is easier to Photograph than Ottawa by alot. If u get the Downtown Buildings then u Miss Parliament Hill, If u get Parliament Hill then u Miss the Downtown Building's. It's just like Victoria. It's near impossible to get the Inner Harbour & all the Buildings in 1 Single Shot. Usually the Inner Harbour Alone is large enough to take up the whole image alone.
Ottawa & Victoria simply put just have far too many buildings & Apartments that are too spread out.
