Windsor is actually cheaper to live in than London, but it is catching up after stagnating for almost a decade because of the Great Recession, which hit Windsor harder than any other Canadian city.
Traffic in Windsor also flows much more smoothly than in London, having an expressway crossing the entire city certainly helps.

Windsor is still a quick drive up to Toronto, only 3 1/2 hrs, plus it's only about a 4 1/2 hr drive to Chicago, also, Cincinnati, a very cool city and Northern Kentucky are also only about 4 hrs away by car as well.
Hmm ur pitch for Windsor might just be the clincher I need, I think I need to plan a trip to visit both Cities thoroughly, personally I think that's doable, but we'll see. If Traffic moves more Smoothly in Windsor that's likely all I needed to hear!

Seven 10 storey towers or six 14 storeys or three 23 storeys would do more for the urban realm and could be delivered much quicker. Of course, this isn't the only development planned but , Detroit could use as many projects as it can hold. More is better than taller.

Near 0% apartment vacancy is nothing new to Canada of the last 40 years. It's actually normal. New construction isn't.

I like a mix of heights as well, but I think a sleek new tallest will do wonders for Detroit's image. The site they are supposed to build it on is where the iconic Hudson's department store was, and that was torn down years ago. It's a very important site and citizens wanted something with a major wow factor, so a mid rise on that site would have been very disappointing to almost everyone. There are other midrises already planned for the DT, so this proposed development is the perfect fit for that spot.

^Is it too much to ask for people to write of what city the pictures they are posting are? Particularly when it isn't obvious.

Those must be the least flattering shots of Ottawa-Gatineau ever taken.

I thought to most it was obvious that it's Toronto.
