I have a strong feeling that CanadaLife will eventually vacate their building on Scarth street which will have a negative effect on the employment and commercial real estate markets in Regina.

I doubt it. It won't improve commutes downtown/industrial area/east end, but should to the south end/ Harbour Landing.

I've said this before, but the Bypass really won't improve commutes since it doesn't go to any major employment areas beside the GTH.

That intersection needs an interchange badly. Turning east from Pasqua in the morning commute is brutal.

What about commuter traffic from Lumsden/Regina Beach, etc. Also anyone going to the Airport, Belle Plaine, Moose Jaw or 6 or 33 south.

Is Lumsden to downtown going to be faster on the bypass than on Lewvan? Probably, but it won't be faster to get to the industrial area.

Belle Plain and Moose Jaw represent such a small part of Regina commutees.

Certainly, some will benefit, but 95% of Regina area commuters won't.

The biggest benefit ( and the whole reason it's being built) it to make it easier for tucks to get from #1 East to the GTH.

With regards to Coopertown (since I leave near the plot of land it'll be built on.

I seriously hope they don't try to come up with fancy names for their streets, and instead, use the pre-approved names that have been collecting dust for years now.

Future Transfer is known nationally for providing services to agriculture, oil & gas, paint & coatings, as well as the mining & manufacturing sectors. The company currently occupies 52,000 sq. ft. in the Translink Logistics Centre – the same office/warehouse complex that is home to the GTH headquarters.

Sobeys must really be feeling the pinch on South Albert. I've been bombarded with Sobeys adds on my instagram and Facebook feeds recently, probably in anticipation of the new Superstore opening.

Personally, I always used to use Sobeys but have switched almost entirely to Save On. I'll probably use both Save On (for convenience) and Superstore (for bulk non-perishables) from now on.

The biggest thing for me is being able to use the self-checkout at both. We rarely need to purchase more than 10 or 20 items at a time, and self-checkout is much faster than waiting in line. The only time I go to Sobeys now is if Save On ran out of something I need.

I wonder how long the store on South Albert will last, assuming Superstore does fairly well. The previous franchise owners picked a good time to sell back to corporate, that's for sure!
