Pics by me today:

Windows removed at grade:

If you look closely, you can see the crane coming all the way down through the heritage building to grade.

This perspective will be gone when the hotel is built.

and another webcam shot - from today:

It's the angled NW corner that seems to interfere with the structure.

It's the track for the Building Maintenance Unit (BMU), which is on wheels.
- i.e. scaffold for window washers.

The odd thing is that the large steel girders seem to block part of the track.

Here's the one on top of Trump - the BMU is at the bottom left of the pic:

wrong level

i meant the smaller ledge that is level with the penthouse level where it is offset. not the roof part.

It's not a knockout, but it is a very strong work; it shows what results from a strong concept pushed through without added complications. Nice to see given that some other new office towers are nothing but complications - Telus?

Also, I think it does what it needs to very well (architecturally). Since it will never have much of a presence in the skyline at distance, it has a very balanced (powerful but not overbearing) presence from the streets nearby.

Nice update mcminsen.

From Changing City Updates, here is a more refined render of the proposed 13-storey hotel connected to this project. It depicts a slightly altered design:

I was hoping an updated render would have the addition be more similar in style and caliber to The Exchange tower, still time for refinement of the design I suppose.

Really like how this tower has turned out. It has the perfect presence for its location. Nicely fills in several view corridors.

I'll add, too, that it is highly successful in its preservation of the historic facade. That the Executive Group hotel will utilize these historic exterior floors as part of the hotel is outstanding.

From the webcam today.
The track is complete - but there are supports through it
- so I guess that the machinery will stop at the blockage and reverse direction.

There are many who love it to be "overbearing".

I get angry everytime I see this building, especially from a distance with its table-top.
