Not so much. The NFL would rather sell Toronto than Salt Lake City. Fact.

Where is your evidence that they would rather sell to TO than Salt Lake? which report did you read or hear? That is simply factless... besides Salt a lake at least has a stadium ready for NFL, with a large college following.... where is Torontos?

The facts I see is an abysmal showing of support with the Bills, the lack of $2 billion stadium, the lack of buyer with $2 billion additional dollars to purchase a franchise. 2 teams just relocated to city's not named Toronto, one of them to a city that has failed twice... why didn't they move at least one of those teams to Toronto??

I gotta hand it to the humble people of Toronto, they are good gluttons for punishment, not having a championship title in anything for generations except the one league they choose to thumb their noses at is quite comical

Why would you label Toronto folk arrogant because one obscure writer on an Internet forum makes the claim that Toronto is a more attractive sports market than Salt Lake City?

frankly, if I lived in Toronto, I'd be to embarrassed to admit to being a Toronto sports fan, I go to SouthWest United States to watch quality pro Sports when not in Saskatchewan, & fans are more fun here

One thing is that if CFL championships aren't going to "count", and if we're going to have to rely as a country on our NHL clubs and the two Toronto clubs in American leagues (of which I guess we are supposedly all "fans" by citizenship) for championships that allegely "mean" something, then true championship euphoria is going to be a pretty rare thing for Canadian sports fans (and not just those in the 416).

Frankly, if I lived in Saskatchewan with one minor professional sports team I wouldn't even watch sports. Probably just spit in a can all day and wait for cowgirls to saunter by. Frankly, if I had to jump on an airplane and spend a day in transit to watch quality pro sports, I would learn to play the banjo. And make awesome crop circles with ma tractor.

Tell me boy. What major championship has Saskatchewan won since the Blue Jays World Series triumphs? Might I remind you, if you want to include dem Green Riders (2 in an 8/9 team league) then our awesomest football team has doubled you (4).

Saskatchewan has a habit of welcoming all its pro teams with open arms, there's a reason why Saskatchewan sports atmosphere is rated best in each of its pro leagues, most recently with newest team sell out crowds even before winning league championships in first year of new home in province.
I'd love to see Toronto do the same with any pro team they have, it just looks better, gives good impression to people not from there and opens up more possibilities to more teams from other leagues.

The lines look worse than they are.

Less number of washrooms, but washrooms have 25 or so pissers rather than the 7 or so they used too.

Sure the lines are long, but they move really quick. with 25 pissers it's a slow consistent march while standing in line. I was furious after the first game I went to in the fall...but it really isn't an issue.

I'm confused.

In 2016 the Toronto Blue Jays lead all of Major League Baseball in attendance. In 2016-17 the Toronto Raptors were third in National Basketball Association attendance with a capacity of 100.2% (averaging more than a sell out). The Toronto Maple Leafs were fifth in NHL attendance this past season with a capacity of 107.5% (averaging more than a sell out). In 2016 Toronto FC was fourth in MLS attendance with over 26,000 per game requiring extra seats for the playoffs.

I just gave you four examples. What pro leagues are you referring to that make Saskatchewan the best sports atmosphere?

You could always move from Saskatoon to Regina. They have the Riders. They offer possibly the best game day experience in the country. A few teams might equal it, but none surpass it.

I wasn't referring to the Salt Lake comparison, that was just a bad argument on his part... I was referring to:

You're completely going off the rails. I'm not debating where I would rather be a sports fan. Toronto obviously has lots of options of course, I'm simply calling out those who have baseless claims that NFL is coming to Toronto. I stated that there is no owner willing to fork over $2 billion, spend $2 billion on a stadium, there was just 2 teams that relocated to cities not named Toronto (one of them which went back to a city that has already failed twice). No one was willing to outbid Pegula who recently bought the bills, terrible support for the Bills in Toronto games (and I don't want hear any BS excuse, cause Montreal did just fine supporting the Jays when they played exhibition games in Mtl). the facts are everywhere around us, but yet we continually hear that's its fact that TO is getting the NFL.

I'm from Alberta, not Saskatchewan, and while there are not nearly close the amount of professional options here compared to TO, it doesn't phase me one bit. I'm not a fan of NBA, only MLB in playoffs, when it is playoff time I chear for underdogs (excluding the Jays). I won't even bother to discuss TfC or soccer in general (are they expected to make playoffs. I seen on Sports center their record is 1-1-4... FOUR TIES IN 6 games??? Sounds exciting). Hockey is huge here of course, but coming across tickets can be difficult.

The alternative options to pro sports in Calgary is heading to the mountains 45 minutes west of the city. World class mountain biking, hiking white water rafting and world class skiing is an hour away. All at a fraction of the price one would pay to watch live pro sports in Toronto.

To get back on track in this forum, bottom line, I don't see a private investor forking over $2 billion for a 60-70k seat NFL stadium , especially with all the facts I listed previously.

How much would it actually cost in Canadian dollars, especially with the hot housing market I see there? Land must be a huge factor when trying to put a price on the stadium...
