We have quite a few of them here. I believe they are called Spruce Sawyers although many people call them Pine Beetles. I've had many land on me but have never been bitten. Some people here are terrified of them more than other insects.

I don't think it is the pine beetle that ravaged our forests though.

And what it does truly is ugly.

In recent years you can see their effect in Banff. Thankfully we're nowhere near as bad as the US yet. If Trump has his way and Climate change continues unabated we'll get there though.

I came across a treasure trove of pictures that belong here while trying to clean up my computer. These have been taken over years. They're not all exactly ugly but funny none the less.

It's over a few years old. I have another one somewhere of all white vehicles.

White is no big deal - gray scale colors are the rage, white/gray/black/silver and that's what makes your picture quite surprising. Note that using monochrome earlier was an error on my part when I meant gray scale.

Red cars went out of style, but seem to be making a comeback, I've noticed a few red luxury vehicles lately as opposed to the ubiquitous black, white and silver. Red is such a primal colour it will never go out of fashion completely.
