For years I have dreamed of the day they would finally illuminate the facade of Fountain Place. I sincerely hope that's what they are planning on doing. It is honestly one of Dallas' most beautiful skyscrapers and it too should stand out at night somehow. After all, Dallas is known for its colorful skyline. Let's see what happens.
If they decide to light Fountain Place, it should be floodlit...not lined with LEDs. Similar to how the Miami Tower is lit in Downtown Miami.
Inspired by the terracing of Hanging Gardens of Babylon, carlisle deliversbeautiful living space and human-scale outdoor retail cascading down into the iconic urban parks of the Katy Trail and Turtle Creek. Tenants and visitors can relax and enjoy the beauty of Lee Park, jog or bike down the Katy Trail, and enjoy the variety of cafes, restaurants, and facilities emphasizing the elegant landscapes and views of Turtle Creek and downtown Dallas.
I hope not. Just gonna disagree here. I'm worn out on the Las Vegas, night-time, outlining of the buildings with LED strip lights. Its starting to become a little much especially the tower on McKinney Ave.
I do like the way the new office tower at McKinney and Olive was done. That one was done by lighting consultant outside of the Dallas market. Its settle and elegant.... not in-your-face lighting.
Subtle and elegant. Sorry, but I could not help myself. Someday you'll thank me.
A Dallas development firm said Thursday that it is considering plans to build a 15-story Marriott brand hotel on the parking lot adjacent to the historic Kress Building in downtown Fort Worth.
Quote:
Jackson-Shaw, though, received conceptual approval for a 218-room hotel Thursday from the Downtown Design Review Board. The developers will require other approvals to move forward with construction. Wheeler said there is no timeline for that.

The Fort Worth hotel would abut the Kress Building, stretching along Fifth Street from Main to Houston streets. Plans for a ground floor restaurant and coffee shop are being explored, as well as a rooftop patio and outdoor pool, according a presentation Thursday. The hotel's entrance and lobby would be at the corner of Fifth and Main.

Owners of downtown Dallas' landmark skyscraper Trammell Crow Center on Wednesday evening celebrated the start of the first major renovation of the 32-year-old tower.
Investor JPMorgan Asset Management and building manager and leasing agent Stream Realty Partners held a debut party at the Nasher Sculpture Center to kick off work on the Ross Avenue high-rise.

The redevelopment will bring 34,000-square feet of new retail and restaurant space to the 2-block site, which is just south of Klyde Warren Park.
The skyscraper will get a new glass atrium entrance on Ross and the two lower floors of the building will be largely rebuilt.
The Ross Avenue side of the building will also be enlarged with two new retail wings that will extend toward the street.
In North Texas, there were 26 in the pipeline, valued at nearly $8 billion total.
They include the $125 million luxury Women’s Hospital that Medical City Dallas is planning for 2018, UT Southwestern Medical Center’s $66 million radiation oncology treatment center scheduled to open in March and Texas Health's medical campus in Frisco being planned for 2019.
With the success of the first phase, Reynolds said, the developers are ready to push ahead with a second, 325-unit apartment building on the adjoining Singleton Boulevard block just to the west.
Reynolds said the developers are also talking to office building investors and partners about doing a building overlooking downtown.

A 223-room Marriott hotel is in the works for the block that's now the location of a concrete plant near Singleton and Beckley Avenue.
I'm interested in what they're planning on doing with that substation if they build a hotel next door to it. Don't get me wrong, substations are really cool. But not exactly what you want to see directly below from your hotel window.
Perhaps there are plans to relocate the substation?
The new plans include a retail section on the first floor topped with five stories of residential units, 140 in total at about 975-square-feet a piece. That would mean an uptick in density, current zoning allows for a floor area ratio of 1.5:1, while this project seeks to increase that to 3.45:1.

Two stories of underground parking would support the building, although only one parking stall is provided per unit and the total number of spots has not yet been decided. There would also be “head-in parking” for shoppers on Oram.
