Oh its definitely for sale and has been for a long time.

They're currently attempting to convert to a hotel/apartments on the top floors.

Hotel or apartments would be good. Retail on the main floor is crucial tho.

They were absent for a long time when the sidewalks could have been completed as well.

It talks about potential amalgamation between White City and Emerald Park. Legally, though, isn't it a matter of annexation, since Emerald Park is an unincorporated subdivision in the RM of Edenwold?

Doesn't make any sense to me, at least for commercial businesses. Maybe for medical offices, town hall, church, etc.

The whole "downtown" thing is ridiculous. It's a developer's dream that has very little hope of existing. It's way off the highway which is important for a commuter down, and its way off from White City and Emerald Park.

Looks like Superstore is substantially done. Semis have been coming and going, unloading food into the loading docks. Construction equipment and fences are still up though so they're in some sort of transitional stage of detail completion while trying to get the store ready for a soft opening.

The inside of the mall is a dead zone. The old Shoe Warehouse location has been empty since the construction started, the old Cheap DVD place is gone too. The last remaining mall tennant is a Hair Supply & Nails place which is currently selling everything at 50% and moving. The Golden Mile Shopping Mall is now essentially just an empty hallway that connects the Broken Rack to the Rainbow and then splits to the bus stop or Goodlife. Like a ground level pedway I guess.

Yeah, it'll take about three weeks to stock it up with canned/dry goods/general merchandise. (Perishables immediately before opening.)

There are also plans for a future shopping centre.
