Interesting discussion, leaning toward the political sphere again and the Manitoba government but the saving grace is the addition of development and infrastructure points occasionally mentioned, clever posters..lol. just keeping it relevant to construction but very close to the Political discussion thread..

Fortune Block

I get all warm and fuzzy when I look at that gorgeous staircase

Because the use of the building is not changing, they can stay (I am almost certain).

Unfortunately the railing are probably too low to meet current safety standards.

with out government grants the avenue building would still be empty and rotting...

the ryan block woulda colasped cause the reis family didnt want it. and prolly woulda killed someone or done damage to art space and the travelers buildings. art space wouldnt exist as it does........

the royal bank tower would still be rotting
rrc princess campus woulda never been built and most of that block would prolly be a parking lot now...

the exchange as we know it would not be the same waterfront woulda never gotten built

LOL, I love the green glass, hate the stone on the main level along Hargrave. I wish the owner would "snap" to it and replace it...

ALT and Glasshouse might not make a huge difference skyline-wise from some angles, but wow they sure do from that one
