You can see what I was talking about previously about mixed brick/wood construction in this photo. A house on the left has a masonry wall covered with stucco, but the front facade is clad in wood.

This is the most painful time of year to have exposure to Vancouver. I miss my ignorant pre-SSP days. Gorgeous scenes!

Apparently Florida only took off as a place to be after WWII soldiers who were stationed there came home and told their parents "hey there's a part of the eastern US that isn't a frozen shithole in winter!"
