I love the design of the airport hotel itself, but what's with the twisty podium? Seems like it destroys the potential of the surrounding plots. Is it meant to be an homage to a roadway radius installed in the late 70s?

Sorry if I am repeating old news but the AJC says the Related Group is getting ready to break ground on their tower in Buckhead.

OMG I hate that! Those buildings give Atlanta some character and need to be preserved. There is no reason why retail couldn't have gone in there and been easily supported by the residential next door. Things like this are a real shame.

Transfer of development rights filed of the Margaret Mitchell house, which I presume is for the air rights/land for 1138/Yoo on Peachtree project. Maybe this one starts to move forward soon?

Also, town home land development proposed near Dairy Queen on north ave at 626 PARKWAY DR NE, ATLANTA GA 30308. I do not recall this project, anyone familiar? The filing doesn't have too much info.

Construction fences surround the Sheffield building and deconstruction has started.

Also Hanover Buckhead Village has finished the parking deck and now starting on residential floors so should rise up much quicker

Does anyone know how much development rights sell for per square foot - or perhaps the denomination is per hundred or per thousand square feet?

I'm aware that The Academy of Medicine building and Margaret Mitchell House are among two of several Midtown historic/registered protected properties that can sell these.

Thanks for any light that can be shared. Just curious.

Do you know of a development interest on adjacent properties? Would love to see infill west of Margaret Mitchell by Midtown MARTA or east of the academy of medicine.

Four months seems really fast, even with a small footprint and no parking deck to build.

This a testament to the strength of the Atlanta rental market if Related FL is willing to build a second high rise in the city.
Related FL is putting on the brakes on some of their proposed condos in Miami .
Of course the markets are different between condos & rentals but still good news for Atlanta.

Demolition is underway on the lowrise portion of the North Ave Presbyterian Church (the south side along Peachtree Street). It will be replaced by a large new atrium and education space.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like this latest round of developments aren't completely closing the sidewalks? And by latest I mean the ones that just broke ground. Hanover kept the sidewalks open, as did the Standard, and Coda put up a barrier in traffic lanes.

Not sure how I feel about the cladding on Modera's base.

Cautiously optimistic about that giant wall? Hope the treatment shown by the architects translates well into real life. The Hense piece should help the north face.

Atlantic House's base felt strange to me. The dark windows hiding the parking looked decent, but something felt off:

I think Post, hiding in the back, is the most underrated building this cycle. It's fairly tall, but not on any main streets:
