i'm pretty sure this set of listings covers the three lots north of 105a avenue and extending all the way to 106 avenue.

the edmontonian site - which is on the south side of 105a avenue - isn't one of them.

Sorry, but I'd have a hard time justifying $200/SF for that site.

Here's something interesting.. redevelopment of the empty lot (Well not totally empty.. it's where Oil kings had their little shack) across from the Coliseum into a restaurant. I suppose that's another bonus to the arena moving, now less lucrative to have all those surface lots in the area

would be nice if the other half of that block down to 118 got cleared out to make room for an interchange. existing lanes could be kept for ramps and business access

IMO next major road priority for the city post-yellowhead should be getting gretzky to freeway status, henday to henday

^ I don't think it needs to be a freeway, but they should figure out better traffic patterns for the WGD area, Whyte, and 98/101 aves for sure

WGD already is a free way to the south, and wants to be to the north. It's not critical as long as things aren't changing at Northlands, but if/when things start to happen around the arena putting the through lanes and so much traffic underground would be a massive benefit to the area, and a massive boost to northland's plans.

As it is it's a really, really shitty place to walk.

240, I know you've been in favour of removing the 118 ave underpass for sound neighbourhood connection reasons. I'd argue that most of the same apply to WGD, just from the other side, and could be fixed for similar cost but without the negative transportation side effects.

So that's why they officially became a secular institution this year. The cross is gone from the logo, but they still have very Christian Christmas lights this year, even if the big tree got a little less attention than in past years.

There are already site trailers on the front lawn, wether for this job or another.

Concordia will be interesting to watch over the next couple of years. They have severed ties with the Lutheran Church and as of 2015, they were able to change their name and drop the word college and officially call themselves a University. They would like to change their status and become a Public University categorized as a Comprehensive Academic and Research Institution - same as UofA, UofC, UofL, and Athabasca (MacEwan and MRU are considered Baccalaureate and Applied Sciences Institutions). I think that would be a mistake - they are in a better position to carve out a unique niche for themselves and provide pragmatic and applied professional programs at the graduate levels. I can't see it gaining a reputation if it wants to play in the same sandbox with the UofA.

They have changed their logo on their website. Much less emphasis on "Concordia" and much more emphasis of "University of Edmonton"

Finally its opened.

Edmontonians can now enjoy the city’s first ‘green street,’ which opened Wednesday.

The almost five-block stretch along 96 Street from Jasper Avenue to 103A Street uses special soil systems that are designed to capture rainfall. The water will be used to water trees and vegetation in the area.
