Daily Hive reports: "Saks Fifth Avenue also has plans to open a flagship department store, similar in size to Nordstrom, in downtown Vancouver."
going on to say:
"An official announcement on the downtown Vancouver flagship store location could be made sometime next year, a source who wished to remain anonymous told Daily Hive. It is expected that the Vancouver flagship will take up a similar store-within-store concept by occupying a significant portion of the 637,000-square-foot Hudson’s Bay flagship, with a main entrance on the Seymour Street side of the building."
For reference, Nordstrom at CF Pacific Centre is just over 223,000 square feet, and Holt Renfrew is 187,700 square feet.
Saks CF Toronto Eaton Centre (Yonge Street side of the Hudson's Bay building) is roughly 170,000 sq ft including the 24,000 square foot grocery floor and 11,000 square foot restaurant. Saks CF Sherway Gardens (freestanding) is 143,000 square feet including the 18,500 sq ft grocery component and separate restaurant. Calgary CF Chinook (2018, freestanding) will be 115,000 sf and downtown Montreal will be 200,000, including an 80,000 square foot 'Quebec-themed food hall' at the back end of the existing Hudson's Bay building.
