I loved the CRJ705 lots of leg room when they first came out. Since then they have played with the layout a little bit. That said, they are being converted to CRJ900 which likely gives up more leg room. Then I will agree.

While I agree that YVR is a fantastic airport, I disagree that PVG is that bad. While it's sterile and a bit lacking in amenities, I find it to be pretty efficient and a decent place to wait for a flight (as long as you aren't at one of the bus gates, that is). I don't really blame the airport for the chronic delays - that's the PLAAF's fault, from what I've read.

It's not that PVG is terrible (it's a nice-looking hospital take catch a flight from), it's just so lacking for China's most important airport, and especially compared to YVR. Everything from the food options to shopping to giving an overall impression, artistically or otherwise, of Shanghai or China is abysmal. This is their gateway to the country. Use this opportunity to show off China's unbelievable history of art, culture and cuisine. As a functioning port, it's ok as long as you're catching an international flight. If you're flying regionally, make sure your tablet is fully charged because your flight WILL be delayed (maybe that's not totally PVG's fault. Flying regionally in China is rough everywhere).

I agree with this - they could make it reflect the culture at least somewhat. Other airports in China are better - Erdos is actually my favourite Chinese airport as they've built it in the shape of a large yurt reflecting the local Mongolian culture - and airports in other countries are definitely far better at showing off their local culture.

For domestic flights - I avoid them as much as possible. I travel quite a bit for business now and if there's an HSR connection from Shanghai to where I'm travelling, I take the train, no questions asked. I only fly domestically if the rail option is simply not possible (too long, or no train at all).

Seems like WestJet is stepping up competition for NewLeaf in Hamilton

Westjet announced more non-stop flights between Hamilton and Vancouver.

WestJet announced today the airline will again connect John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport with Vancouver International Airport in 2017. Service commences April 30, 2017 with four-time weekly service, moving to a daily flight, June 28 to September 7, and returning to four-time weekly flights until October 27.

"The people of the greater Hamilton area adore WestJet's low fare, high care service as evidenced by the high demand we saw on the route this past summer," said Bob Cummings, WestJet Executive Vice-President, Commercial. "We heard the citizens of Hamilton and we want to thank them for their loyalty by bringing back even more non-stop service; giving them access to Vancouver's 27 non-stop routes on approximately 63 daily departures. Passenger traffic was up 10.6% for Q3 in Winnipeg. The numbers have not yet been posted in the passenger statistics tables, and year over year figures have not yet been given. Passenger volume was up about 3% in Q1 and Q2.

Yes Transat is going to have domestic flights. But I don't know what cities exactly ...I know they are serving from YUL

They've removed many of their Europe flights from Western Canada, I believe these flights are to feed their flights from Eastern Canada to Europe.

TU is also increasing TUN-YUL to 3x weekly for peak summer 2017.

Them, Air Maroc and Air Algerie, everytime I walk past their check in counters, I see a plethora of people, each with a luggage cart stacked with 3 bags, waiting in line.....loads are definitely good on these carriers....

Nice to see Tunisair succeeding in YUL, where Syphax couldn't.

Indeed it will. I spoke with an Air Transat agent a few weeks ago, on that one specific day there were 323 people coming off European flights to YUL connecting to YYZ. Mostly from France and Portugal.

Does this put a kink in NewLeaf's plan?

Doesn't say how many aircraft they intend to use but obviously less available for NewLeaf considering they were wanting to expand.

YYZ has just announced its September figures....

YTD ending 30 Sept 2016:

YYZ up 7.7% to 33.9M
YVR up 9.2% to 17.0M
YUL up 6.8% to 12.8M
YYC up 1.4% to 11.9M

In Sept YYZ had just insane growth of 12.4%... Just edging YVR with 12.2% growth.
