For some reason on my iPhone the Map shows Nico on both small spots between Chapters and Dollartree but I am pretty sure that is not the case as Nico is not large enough for that entire block of space. Probably a glitch on my phone.

There's some kind of glitch because when I click on the spot beside Chapters sometimes it says Nico and sometimes it says Dollar Tree.

For me, sometimes it says Nico's, sometimes it says Chapters depending on which spot I start on... If I begin on Chapters, it say Chapters, if I begin on Nico's (right beside Dollar Tree), the next one over says Nico's...

I was at Chapter's yesterday. The empty space is between Chapter's and Nico's.

Convoluted logic, but WCA might deny the Brandt/CNIB project in an attempt to back the storyline that the Conexus project is a one-off.

They know CNIB can't stay in the building much longer if it isn't fixed (they've already largely moved out, right?), so they may actually handle two issues at once - tone down the anger about Conexus & get an entity that had always been a square peg in a round hole out of Wascana.

Not diminishing CNIB's work, but they've never fit Wascana's mandate, and WCA had to do contortions to shift CNIB from non-conforming use to conforming use in the 2016 Master Plan (the first time CNIB has been listed as 'conforming' in Wascana's history).

Long-shot - but I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen.

Correct - the City could pass a resolution, or even a bylaw, opposing commercial development in Wascana Centre, and it would have no legal impact. WCA does not need to comply with municipal bylaws or the Official Community Plan (though, in most cases they do).

The building is completely abandoned at this point. The only items left inside are ones that they don't mind being destroyed by the wrecking ball.

I don't know the terms of the lease with the Province, but I believe CNIB could potentially maintain possession of the land even without a building on it. CNIB may be able to just sit on it as an empty piece of property until which time a successful & approved partnership can be created to rebuild. WCA would need to prove CNIB violated the terms of their lease in order to nullify it and regain the land. Simply denying the Brandt deal won't do that.

You're right - it comes down to the terms of their lease with the province. WCA can't turf a tenant from a "participating party's" land. But, if there's a provision in the lease for the prov to terminate, that's conceivable if the alternative is a decaying empty building.

Long shot hypothetical, I realize.

Construction has slowed. Also because of the election, nothing has been considered or approved by the City for a while.

There are roughly 15-17 new businesses set to open in Harbour Landing this winter/spring. Does anyone have a listing of what is going there?

There's the 4 story condo building with first floor retail that has 11 spaces, another 3-4 business building similar to the others, a bigger building. The Grasslands website lists:

- Home Sense
- Winners
- Knight Archer

With 50% of commercial in H.L. supposed to be new to Regina, there should be 8 or so new businesses coming there, correct?

I heard a rumor of Fat Burger somewhere.

Designer Shoe Warehouse is probably in that list.

I think DSW has been open for a while. Brown's Social House is another.

I believe the condo main floor is pretty much leased. There are a couple of restaurants going in there.

Fatburger's confirmed for Golden Mile, is it not? So another one in addition to that one?

That's not a rule or anything, just something that happened.

Knight Archer is going in the building closest to Harbour Landing Drive. I think Home Sense is the building they haven't started next to London Drugs where they have been moving sand/gravel and compacting for days.

There's no floor in the building that was supposed to be Brown's Social House so I'm thinking that deal has fallen through.

It's more likely that the commencement date is in the future and Harvard simply decided to build the building while building the other. They'll probably start their TIs sooner or later.

That or they're getting sued for breach of contract.

It's a shame we didn't get more of a architectural statement with that. Then again, it's not like any recent churches are architecturally interesting either.
