I'm actually a little surprised that it's taken this long for Ponce to see some more redevelopment. It has always felt like it should be a prime corridor for intown growth.

Land Dev Permit was filed for the Sutton ala: http://atlanta.curbed.com/2016/7/18/12209928/the-sutton-peachtree-road-buckhead

Land Dev permits was filed for the 120 Piedmont development

My guess is they're trying to secure financing still. 725 Ponce had the backing of Kroger to help get their project started sooner than 525 North.

Well, I greatly appreciate the architecture of Pei and I rarely agree with Kunstler, but what was Pei thinking to put this addition onto this historic high rise in Augusta? I guess from a long distance it may be ok.

No, it's just as bad from a distance. It looks like someone sat it up there temporarily and a stiff wind might tip it over any minute. It's truly horrible.

Way to think positive tho.

Went by there today and saw the old Sun Trust building was torn down and they were more than halfway finished tearing down the corner building across from the newer/active Sun Trust building. I'll bet they finished tearing it down and hauling away debris later this afternoon.

By the way, when the Drew Eckl building at 880 West Peachtree and 7th comes down - within only a month or so now - given all happening to date, West Peachtree St may prove to be equally dynamic to world famous Peachtree Street.

West Peachtree will definitely improve, but there's something about the one-way street with fast moving vehicles that will always hold it back imo....

The Underground Atlanta developer has officially acquired a number of south downtown buildings along Peachtree and plans to restore them.

Potential Underground Atlanta developer WRS buys nine south downtown properties (SLIDESHOW)
