Last week in Vegas while at Caesars - I walked through the Forum Shoppes which is a great beautiful "mall", so interactive with dining spots right out along the mall ... indespersed with great stores. A throng of high end stores by original designers - and all packed. I wish CC was more interactive and instead of food court had gone with dispersement of restaurants along the mall with seating open to the promenades. Fashion Mall in Las Vegas do the same but to a lesser extent also have an upper food court. Of course this costs more to construct for the M&E - but is great for shoppers. Even the the redeveloped South Plremium Outlets in the mall by the Las Vegas airport broke up a single food court into 3 parts along the very long mall to create a more pleasant shopping experience. A great way to motivate people to keep walking, shopping and eating or take mini breaks. In our case stopping for coffee twice while not buying a thing. We actual do shop lots and checked out more malls than the ones above looking at architecture and layouts.

The reality is that fashion retail is dying a slow painful death
The other reality is that ECC is just not the draw that the suburban malls are, for a wide variety of reasons. So people can prostheletize all they want but it's just background noise
In th meantime I know that many office workers and visitors will enjoy their new food court that will make their experience at ECC much better
