I think it looks like a bit of an illusion. Close by and far in the distance it looks really flat.. but then between the 30s it looks a little crowned.

It'll always be a little bit crowned, but what it is can essentially be called flat.

The anchor point for the goal posts looks like it is right on the goal line for soccer games. I'm not sure how the posts are anchored but I have seen other systems where it is a box with a lid with turf on the lid that covers the hole where the posts are anchored. Fine in the soccer net area but not sure it is the best thing to have on the goal line (for soccer games that is).

Did anyone else attend the test event yesterday ? Impressions? I was thoroughly impressed, clearly the stadium wasn't 100% functional yet but overall the design, construction, layout of the facility appear to be top-notch. Would love to hear what others thought

My biggest (maybe only) complaint was the sound; it was pretty muffled, but that's not unexpected at this point. They've got time to realign speakers and add a few more if necessary. Overall thumbs up from me.

Someone on the www.riderfans.com/forum posted this today:

"I work at the park...regarding the sound in the south end zone they didn't have ALL the speakers up for this game...they were hanging more today (specifically in the south end of the stadium)"

I was there

Sat in Section 113 (West side, 30 yard line, third row down from concourse). Enjoyed everything about the day: the game, the weather, the stadium. It was all good. Stadium is everything I hoped for, and was expecting. It will only be better next year when everything is complete. I love the fact that you can walk around the complete concourse. I doubt there are many, if any, bad seats in the house. Plenty of washrooms, although I thought they could be better marked, and maybe they will. The Maxtron is huge! Can't wait to see it in operation next year. It was also great to see so many people standing in the south end zone 'terraces'.

Overall, the stadium has a nice feel. It is a worthy successor to venerable Taylor Field/Mosaic Stadium.

My only real complaint was the sound. The music was way too loud. Announcements were not loud enough. I know these are minor complaints that will be resolved.

My only complaint about the stadium was the patrons. Specifically the ones sitting in front and beside us. Inconsiderate is a generous term for them.

Great facility. Sight lines are awesome.! I was a bit hesitant going from sec 27 to my new seat in sec.145 @ NMS but the new view was great! For the sound, i was talking to someone there and he said they haven't installed the south end zone speakers yet. Overall I was very impressed.

Watched the Rams game on TV and the stadium looked superb!!! It will be stunning when filled with 35,000 fans. On TV the south-end terrace appeared to enclose the lower bowl very nicely, as fans migrated to that section.

My only niggle (again as a TV spectator) is that the roof seemed to be casting a dark shadow across the field, and this was distracting for part of the broadcast. How was it for those in attendance? Maybe the TV cameras were exaggerating the effect? I know the new roof is to mitigate light contrasts on the field.

This seems to be the case with all the new stadiums that have substantial canopies when games are played in sunny conditions... IGF, BMO, NMS. It's barely noticeable in person as eyes can adjust quickly, but the contrast plays havoc with TV.

I'm not sure that anything can be done other than wait for technology to catch up...

Yes although the roof is very bright underneath, the slight translucency really makes no difference on the shadow. That prediction of softer shadows definitely was bunch of bull. Turning the lights on also made no perceptible difference.
