There is probably a way of posting that pic but it is beyond me.

Anyone know why the video board's siding is a forest green rather than the slightly lighter shade on the rest of the stadium? I noticed that when I was driving by today... looked... odd.

Is it possible it's just the lighting throwing your perception off?

I find this whole parking plan to be bizarre. Are they really going to reserve the giant lot between Cooperators Centre and the Hospital for non-Rider game users? All summer there will be no one using that lot for hockey or indoor soccer? I don't get it.

Also why is all the current parking east of Elphinstone not included? It is not just going to evaporate overnight.

Finally there is a lot of yellow (Evraz Place staff parking ). Really? They have that many staff on duty evenings and weekends?

No, it looked very different driving by as well.

Regarding parking... That could be a "first priority" during Rider games, but should there be no Evraz events, it can be used by football fans? Creates an uncertainty though...

Yes very poor communication. I had trouble even finding this plan. Why the City insists on these town halls rather than posting online, I do not understand.

For what it's worth, I measured the area of yellow zones to be about 30,000 square meters. That's enough for about 900 - 1000 vehicles.

The blue "for sale" area is about 21,000 square meters, which can hold 600-700 vehicles.

Even if you could bulldoze every other building on the Evraz property and convert it in to one huge parking lot, it would only hold about 10,000 vehicles. This is why transit to and from stadiums is so important, and why I laugh at people who said they should have built on the outskirts to accommodate parking.

Plans looks fine to me. It's clearly a "Game Day" plan - sections aren't reserved in this manner on other days/times. Evraz Place can't shut down on gameday - so they need space dedicated to users of other facilities. Strikes me that they may have overestimated demand in some areas, though.

This seems to be a snapshot of Evraz Place's plan - so the DND lot at Ephinstone/10th, and existing lots around Taylor Field aren't within the scope... though, I agree it would have made sense to coordinate with this other entities (especially Evraz's parent - the City) to paint a wholistic picture of Gameday parking & transportation.

Completely & wholeheartedly agree!

No reason they can't do both. Town Halls, and post products prominently on their website... rather than buried, & often requiring a hefty PDF download from a 3rd party website. I've ranted extensively about how far behind the City of Regina is in this regard. Most other cities are at least managing these like it's 2010 - Regina is still stuck in 1995.

And yes - part of this requires Provincial legislation to be updated to the times (notifications being published in a physical newspaper? Really?), but nothing prevents the City from exceeding the minimum required by legislation (newpaper ad+social media+website+online ads+town halls+etc+etc)

I spoke with the boys that were taking them down. There is a defect with the boards . Today they been working on them on the ground so looks like they have a fix, was going to ask them but did have time .

The dome for the south videoboard goes up today or tommorrow. It's huge & all one piece.

Also there are 2 large transformers on the east side of the stadium along Elphinstone St & they are going to enclose them with large steel structures.

Uprights are laying on the turf this morning. So later today?

Cannot wait for the Rams - Huskies game on Saturday. Should be a great day!

South posts are up. It looks like a pretty simple job. No crane.

It's a fairly simple job at the current stadium too as they are removed for concerts.

Other stadiums across the country that serve double-duty with a soccer team also take down their uprights when the stadium switches functions.

I posted this in the main Canadian stadium thread... but probably not bad to throw in here too:

Photo update from Mosaic... Field Goal Uprights are in and ready for the Rams/Huskies game/test event this Saturday.

The far end one really gives a good scale comparison for the screen.

That last picture makes it look like there's still a crown in the field. Maybe it's just an illusion. I thought the new drainage system meant the field could be flat.
