I've been too a number of weddings in suburban hotels and multiplex reception halls in the 905. It would be fun to have been in that Mississauga hotel. On the other hand, It would be an utter joke for a business meeting. They skimped on the room conversions.

I do too. Nothing bad about that example unlike the gutter trash Greco Roman revival one that preceded it. Then again I'm not sure if there actually are any real buildings that meet WS's standards.

I was walking past the Guardian towers over the weekend and was looking at the podium and how shockingly poor the execution and fit and finish are.
The bottom row of bricks in my picture are sandstone, the next two rows as well as the thin vertical tiles are supposed to be a matte marble stone, and the thin vertical laquered strip in the middle is a third type of stone. Overall it is very sloppy: on many tiles the "grain" is not always orientated to match neighbouring tiles and the shade is off. Besides the obvious poor application of stone, why are there so many finishes and textures on one column alone?
It's embarrassing that this passed inspection by the builder and sits at the base of a building in which the units are quite expensive. Arriva next door is much better finished.

It just looks super cheap.
The Mississauga hotel is pure cheese but, for cheese, it's not badly done. The theme is consistent. There are however places where it starts to stink with the old corporate look shining through and clashing with the new .

It comes from spending my summers working in my uncle's firm. I wish I could judge everything on my own personal taste however, good and bad architecture is not as subjective to opinion as the forums make it out to be.

You're surprised? I am pretty sure Timmins, North Bay, Sault Ste Marie and Thunder Bay all have country music stations. As do some of the smaller towns and cities.
Most places in the southern part of Ontario would also have at least one country station within "earshot".

The Ottawa area actually has two.
