Team facilities aren't all at the current stadium. IIRC, a number of years ago, they acquired another space where conditioning/workouts and the like are done.

That said, it still does pale in comparison to what will be available to the team at the new stadium, especially with everything under one roof.

The only difference is that you guys just admitted up front that you'd be a few months too late to start the season in the new place

Gotta say, was watching the North America v. Europe game from Quebec City. DAMN the Videotron arena looks nice. It just has a fantastic layout and I love the steepness about the lower bowl. The giant zamboni entrance is a bit odd.

It's amazing how quickly people forgot about Videotron once Edmonton Rogers began construction.

Jesus...this looks like a beast. Will never be a fan of the siding. Looks weak. But as a complete package its a hit.

Very Impressive.... Most importantly.... what are the food options

There are so many windows around the building that give some great vantage points of the downtown and Ice District.

First chance to sit in our new seats, section 207.

The rake of the 200s is nuts.

The winter garden will be a nice public gather space.

Damn, I'm sad to have to go to the outdated McMahon and Saddledome now! Well done Edmonton and Regina! They showed a bit of the new Videotron Centre on tv last night during the World Cup exhibition game, looks great as well!

General query: do new arenas (as opposed to stadiums) just open fully without hosting any test events? I'm asking because both IGF and new Mosaic Stadium had/will have test events prior to full-time operation.

Vidéotron had a grand opening "party" with a music show featuring Quebec artists the first night. They had a junior hockey game with the Remparts the very next day.

Nothing's been officially announced yet, but the general understanding is that it will be a mix of local establishments and national chains. Tim's is almost guaranteed given their deepening involvement in the CFL and it's thought that the owners of very successful set of pubs in Regina will have a space in there as well. Not sure if there are any rumours further than that. They have just over half a year to prepare their spaces though, so we should now pretty soon.

Someone mentioned Videotron earlier, and looking at the pictures of near-complete Rogers I'd say the two arenas look remarkably similar. In much the same way that NMS and IGF are very similar to each other (well, to everyone except Migs who thinks that Cowboys Stadium got moved to Regina), it looks like Videotron and Rogers are cut from the same cloth. Both are gorgeous facilities and beautiful buildings.

Other than capacity there is little similarities between IGF & New Mosaic.
