I've been a seasons ticket holder for about 6 years now and there is nothing that I will miss about the old stadium. The whole last ____ amount of games thing is less than a get in to say goodbye thing and more of a countdown to something awesome. Although I have the decent seats in the south end zone, I won't miss the food, portapotties, and that cold wind that made the 2013 Western semifinal almost impossible to attend. There was just us 4 guys violently shivering in 2 sections of empty seats, lol. I made sure that we are getting our tickets in the black because it's still a decent price (for 4 tickets) and we will be under a roof with protection from wind.
I will miss the memories and the nostalgia from the place. I started attending games at 4 and it has always been a family affair. I will miss the memories of racing up the ramps with my late grandfather and the memories from playing there in high school that still come up. The stadium itself I wont miss but the memories I made there will become a little hazier over time without it and that makes me sad

I don't know specifics but I know lol the audio/visual info will be released in a few weeks.

That said, if you check out the field view cam you can see a large speaker was installed this morning. I'm sure someone with time can figure out what brand it is.

So it's confirmed that is in fact a video board along the end zone backwall? Would they not be putting padding in there so players don't hurt themselves?

Yes to your first question, which would mean no to your second question. Video board placement has to meet CFL regs re: minimum safe distance from the playing surface.

Just curious, but has anyone done any space comparisons between end zone line and end wall distances in old Mosaic and new Mosaic? The distances may perhaps not be dissimilar.

Interesting. looks virtually identical to the layout in Winnipeg and they have ugly padding strung up on both ends.

Regarding sound; all I could find is the contractor.

"Advance Pro is pleased to have been selected the successful contractor to provide design assist, supply and installation services for the main bowl and back of house sound systems, broadcast control room, broadcast cabling in partnership with Alliance Energey as well as all large format displays and for the new home of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, in Regina, SK."
No indication of what kind of products but it appears to be the same folks that did IGF in Winnipeg.

edit:
from the field view cam the new speaker looks to be held in place with ropes.....maybe the same people that did Hamilton's speakers are installing these speakers.

Nice.

Remember that it was faulty brackets that they had to replace in Hamilton. Kind of funny since they are supposed to be "steel town" or whatever. I would guess that they used ropes to hoist the speakers. But thanks for the rest of the information.

So only 5 days until turnover to the City. There still seems like a lot to do. Some incomplete items:

Maxtron
Ribbon boards
Club Seats
siding on ramps
what else?

Items that are on separate contracts, still in progress:

Rider improvements including dressing and training rooms, store, offices.
SaskSport space
Concessions
Terrace

Because the roof covers a significant area of the spectators, the loudspeakers should be able to directed down rather than out. This should reduce echoes caused by sound delay.

I think the wording mentioned is substantial completion upon turnover. I'd say it's substantially complete.

Does anyone know when they are scheduled to build the bike path from downtown to the new stadium?

It's supposed to be North of the rail tracks, which is currently parking during Rider games and parking for the stadium construction crew. I'm guessing they'll add a path closer to the stadium opening, or even during the 2017 season.

Hope Regina will bid again for the Canada Summer Games. That stadium would be killer for the opening and closing ceremonies

I do not think they have finalized the plans or budget for this. Hopefully it is done in '17 but who knows.

A big "City of Regina" sign appears to be going up on the back of the Maxtron.
