Sorry for sounding like my usual snobby self, but from the get-go, I've always found this project to be one of the most over-hyped, over-rated major projects in the city.

I think the office tower came out really well, not much variation from the renders and models we saw beforehand.
The residential tower has been a huge disappointment. The original color scheme was changed to blandness and the podium lost it's interesting stone cladding.

Wow, the podium did NOT finish well. This beats anything existing in randomness of podium elements. There's like a dozen separate ideas competing for attention. Whoever designed this mess, should be ashamed of themselves.
The office tower gets A+ from me but the residential tower is a D-.
Just like the Nordstrom building, they take a bunch of leftover materials and tack them onto the facade and then call it eclectic or postmodern or something. There's no sense of style, cohesion, or direction with most of our architecture; it's a perfect metaphor for the city.
I have a good feeling this alley concept will be a flop within 5 years, 10 tops. It will likely be a wind tunnel and there is nothing visually appealing or comforting about the cold grey.... everything! That is not the kind of space i would want to hang out or spend time in. No sun, plants, open street view or mountains to see, those suspended lanterns provide minimal visual interest at best.. Maybe acceptable in a city with no redeeming features it could be an escape, but if i were working or living in this development, i would much rather sit somewhere more inviting than this alley.
But look how happy and socially-engaged the people in that picture are! If you build it, they will come!

I can just see it now... all the unused high quality materials being pimped out on the east side strip and Pigeon Park market... Ask anyone where it came from and it's always the same answer... "They fell off a truck and work for me now, that's all you need to know. Got it?"
