Wow, cali, you aren't kidding! Someone has managed to make even the Watermarke podium look almost passable, if that were possible.

^^^ My thoughts exactly. I was looking around like

"Holy 🞵🞵🞵🞵, who is planting these watermarkes all over the damn place???"

Watermarke hides well within downtown, so from a distance you barely notice shes sitting on architectural bricks. But the ones in Vegas, as you can see by the pictures, are sitting next to 1-2 story buildings so they stand out A LOT. And most of them didn't even have ground floor retail or anything.

So picture 7 watermarke towers oddly rising in the middle of the desert and each one surrounded by single family homes. RIDICULOUS

^^^ Tell me about it !, when my friends and I drove passed them, we literally had heart attacks since we're all into architecture. I literally called 911 because my friend stopped breathing. And that's just TWO. There were FIVE more just like them spread around in the area.

I thought that the spire was to be triangular in shape. I believe it will be 180 feet tall.

Has anyone noticed how cheaply the new forest city herald examiner building is being built? No crane, only one level of concrete, 2x4's seemingly slapped on in random places at random angles. It looks very amateurish. Am I missing something?

If the exterior were to follow the pattern of construction that you describe it would be a disaster since that project with the Herald Examiner building have such an important and prominent location.

Don't want to quote NativeOrange but it looks like I did in fact drive next to the spire pieces on the 15. COOL SH**. Wish I could have taken a picture next to them on the flatbeds.

Yeah we were inquiring about going to that museum but we ended up just keeping close to the strip once we saw the sea of monstrosities.

Yeah we were inquiring about going to that museum but we ended up just keeping close to the strip once we saw the sea of monstrosities.

That's okay. One day I will go up and the Mob Museum and monstrosities will be on my itinerary.

Somehow I think that this tubular structure is just the supporting base of the spire. My impression (based upon diagrams, and renderings) is that the spire would be triangular or square in cross section and would have a translucent sheathing. Inside would be LED lights such that the spire could be brilliantly lit and change colors. Can one of you very sharp investigative whippersnappers verify this? Thank you.

Not sure if you are talking about the DTLA Development - Group on Facebook, but yeah, there are some great pictures out there.

Still .. I think that the structuremag.org post explains it pretty good.
