Also a webcam for the current tower: http://webcampub.multivista.com/index.cf...UID=01C0703C-8899-4745-A22F-8946503B6451
Awesome!

Probably a dumb question, but I am assuming the second tower will go in the empty lot immediately to the south of the current project?

Yep, they say it will be directly adjacent to the current one located where they currently have construction offices and the big pile of dirt from digging down a sublevel or two for parking.

Spring Midtown is now known as Apogee Midtown and the mural on 14th is being designed by HENSE and will include 3D elements.

Also Related had this in the press release:

This is amazing...looks like a big city tower. I was with a couple of friends last week, and one mentioned that Atlanta could really use some big digital boards in the city to bring that extra life to the streets. I love it!!!

I'm sooo glad they renamed this tower! Yes to the second tower for NCR! Have they been approved for this tower?

There is a fine line between graffiti and art - I am just not sure where they cross.

I'm surprised more people aren't commenting on the major internal announcement NCR just made about immediately committing to the 2nd Midtown tower and how many more jobs it'll bring to the heart of the city and help further ignite the residential boom in the area. This announcement could mean a couple more of the announced towers gain or at least maintain momentum in the development pipeline and come out of the ground next year. Talk about a vote of confidence in where things are going intown..hats off to NCR!! And the interview with Hanover really sets the tone as well for further intown growth. Such an incredibly exciting time for what I'm going to start calling ITB: Inside the Beltline..haha

That's huge!!! If they plan on having people in desks by 2019 then they are going to have to start construction in late fall.

Agree 100%. I don't think we realize how urban Midtown is going to be 18 months from now. It will be unrecognizable compared to today.

This is huge for Midtown getting another tower. But it doesn't mean that it will bring more residents. If anything it will for sure bring more traffic. That being automobile traffic...but hopefully more patrons for restaurants not only during the day, but to linger over for happy hour and dinner. Some people have the misconception that a company moving from the burbs to the city, that its employees will be moving to the city as well. The fact is that a lot of these employees have families with kids, and these are the people that spur the growth of our surrounding suburbs like Dunwoody, Alpharetta, Duluth, etc. They are not packing up and moving to a 2 bedroom apartment/condo in the city.

Ncr

I'm really curious what type of retail this development will attract. I'd like to see those under-developed surrounding lots (ie. Cheetah, Chevron, Dominos, parking lot next to Aqua) get redeveloped. 10th Street has potential to hopefully have a lot of tall towers eventually.

Considering the main reason for NCR's HQ relocation to Midtown has been talent recruitment and retention it will definitely mean they will be bringing in more residents into the city as well (new hires in particular).

You make the assumption everyone who works at NCR has family and kids. Maybe there are younger folks who worked at NCR, but because the campus was in Duluth, they had to live in the suburbs for convenience. I mean, it is a Tech company and Tech companies tend to leaner younger and generally have crowds that like urban living more. I mean, this will probably bring upwards of 5,000 jobs with the new announcement.
