I definitely agree with that...I don't understand why they couldn't build a podium or at least build the deck on 13th, and it's really strange to have the parking entrance on 14th with all the traffic. Looking at it from the air is odd, but it won't really affect pedestrians other than the curb cut...in the future 13th street may be really vibrant and it might make sense, but right now it doesn't.

Amen! However, it could be they wanted a little space between OAC and the tower...if not, the lawyers would be looking right into tenants windows

You guys practically beg developers to put retail on side streets, then when someone finally does it you complain about it...

they were forced to class up the deck by the deed. Anything they built there would have to incorporate the same materials as OAC.

The crown of Atlantic House is really disappointing and cheap looking. Unless it's not finished, the art-deco-esque black and tan lattice appears to be roughly 6 feet tall. You have to look closely at the building to even notice it's there.

This is also why the actual tower is on 13th.

How the development across the street got away with not doing that at all is unclear to me.

The deed "restrictions" might have read more like covenants the prescribed specific materials rather than the architectural style of the corners.

I can imagine trying to find these on public record would be more difficult as they're probably not digitally available right now given the time when the IBM tower was constructed.

But would be interesting if someone actually found the deed restriction which is usually referenced in zoning matters.

One Museum Place is turning out much, much better than I had initially feared.
It looks exactly like the renderings-- what did you fear?-- BTW its architect is known around the world for design-- arguably the best designers in Atlanta.

No more camera views on 22 14th. Do they have one of their own?

Atlantic House is going to have retail on both 14th and 13th. Here's the brochure for the corner at 14th, and McCray's Tavern is going on 13th.

Quote:
Atlantic House is pleased to offer 6,626 sf of creative loft office space along with 6,232 sf of street-level retail space.

I'm not counting the Atlantic House cam out yet. Might just be yet another down-period.

Spring Midtown is now known as Apogee Midtown and the mural on 14th is being designed by HENSE and will include 3D elements.

Also Related had this in the press release:

Quote:
In a press release, Related Development’s senior vice president of development Ed Allen said the "artful" tower will be "the first of many you can expect to see from Related here in Atlanta," ranging from other high-rises to garden-style builds in the 'burbs.

Any movement on Hanover Midtown?

Also, glad to hear Related wants to build more high-rises in Atlanta. Here's hoping they'll be in Midtown, Downtown, or Buckhead... although I have a strong preference toward Midtown.

Broadstone Midtown had been advertising their website along Juniper construction fencing, but it was dead site, but now it has a little more:

I think it's quite clear the BeltLine, especially along the EST, continues to grow in housing demand. Even with all the projects under construction currently in O4W, we aren't close to fulfilling the demand of those who want to rent or own in the area. If 755North, the Masquerade development, and other similar projects were condos, I imagine they'd be scooped up quick. A lot of the condos in the area do not feature that great of build qualities or amenities featured in newer residences.

Edit: Similarly: "NAP is scheduled to go before the City of Atlanta's zoning review board on Aug. 11 over rezoning the Airline property into a pure mixed-use parcel (versus some industrial potential)." The article lists a potential 275 unit development.

That's awesome about HENSE and the mural. Can't wait to see what midtown looks like in 5 years.

Breaking news from internal NCR email.

Quote:
NCR Atlanta Team:

I am excited to share that we have expanded the scope of our global headquarters campus project in Midtown Atlanta to include a second tower.
Quote:
To that end, NCR has entered into an agreement to expand the scope of our global headquarters campus project in Midtown Atlanta to include a second tower. A second tower will enable us to eliminate the need for a second, northern campus. We expect to move into the first tower by Q1 2018, and the second tower will open in Q1 2019.
Also it means there will not be a second campus up in northern suburbs anymore. They anticipate they will share renders of the full campus in September.

Also a webcam for the current tower: http://webcampub.multivista.com/index.cf...UID=01C0703C-8899-4745-A22F-8946503B6451
