The City where Canadians on this board have been the meanest to me for some reason :/.
people from Eastern Canada on the other hand have been the nicest to me, in particular Torontonian's, Montrealer's & People from Quebec City. No Idea why many people from Vancouver hate me/ have hated me on here/ these Message Boards! :/ Oh well still a beautiful City!

Haha kk just making sure.. >.< I meant Toronto in the 5.5 Million Range, (Early 2010's) doesn't look way, way, different than Toronto when it passed the 6 Million Range! (Today), only if u look @ Aerial's. The Biggest Changes are the Twin Condo's u can see from the Lakefront & City Place & the Cities New Tallest that was completed last year. Aura at College Park! (But like I said u need Aerial's to be able to see those). + the Toronto's Skyline is so long to begin with u can't always see City Place in every Shot. But ya not every Skyline Shot is an Aerial. This year alone Toronto has approved, built, completed so many Skyscraper's how many Torontonians even realize the differences or care for that matter? (Like I said just another tower Lost in the Sea). Whereas if u look @ Calgary (From only like 5 or 6 years ago). Their was no Bow, or Brookfield Place, East Village Condo's/ Gaurdians, or Vogue Condo's. (This is apparent from ALL Angles the skyline is viewed). Whereas with Toronto u MUST use an Aerial to notice real impactful changes. Vancouver/ Montreal are virtually the same way's too!

Here's my list of the best skylines in the country:

1. Toronto
2. Calgary
3. Montreal
4. Vancouver
5. Edmonton
6. Mississauga
7. Burnaby
8. Niagara Falls
9. Ottawa
10. Winnipeg

If I were counting the separate skylines of the city of Toronto, this list would look different.

Interesting list. My list would be
1.Montreal
2.Halifax
3.Toronto
4.Calgary
5.vancouver(only because of the mountainous back drop)
5.Edmonton(will probably move up on my list in a couple years)
6.Ottawa
7.Hamilton
8.Regina
9.Winnipeg
10.saskatoon

To get nerdy and quantify it, I would say a skyline is some combo of variety (often based on history), height, urban surroundings and natural surroundings.

On a scale of 0-10, I would say:

Variety / Height / Urban Surr / Natural Surr [TOTAL]

Toronto 6 8 6 4 [24]
Montreal 5 3 8 5 [23]
Quebec City 6 1 7 8 [22]
Vancouver 2 3 5 10 [20]
Calgary 4 7 3 4 [18]
Halifax 3 2 5 6 [16]
Winnipeg 4 3 4 3 [14]
Edmonton 3 4 3 4 [14]
Mississauga 2 6 1 1 [10]

Some comparisons:

New York 10 9 10 7 [36]
Rio de Janeiro 3 2 8 10 [23]
Hong Kong 8 10 9 9 [36]
Chicago 9 9 9 4 [31]

I like Halifax a lot but as far as skylines go it has virtually none. Sure it has a waterfront and a bridge, but not really a place full of skyscrapers imo. Why would you place that ahead of Toronto?

I think this is a really terrific and thought-provoking itemized ranking.

My quibbles? I'd go with 3 for Quebec City on variety, 6 for Montreal on natural surroundings, 1 for Calgary on urban surroundings, and for Chicago I'd go with 6 for urban surroundings and 1 for natural surroundings.

Toronto and Chicago equal at 6 on urban surroundings, you might furrow your brow? Well, yeah. Toronto missed out on the 19th multi-story streetwalls of the northeastern seaboard, resulting in too much row-housing too close to the city centre, but the shopfronts on its main commercial streets are a lot nicer than Chicago's, and Chicago's tenements are detached, making for a mostly bleak hodge-podge on its residential streets.

This definitely provides some objective measures. Though, why would Edmonton and Missaissauga be higher than (and Winnipeg tied with) Vancouver and Montreal in height?
