^ & ^^ What a strange turn this discussion has taken, given that not everyone is agreeing with each other, and aside from one post, being quite respectful in their disagreements.

It just needs a neighbour across 104 Ave of roughly similar design.

Think 104 and Jasper and the old Sobeys, but on steroids.

CNIB Redevelopment Receives Unanimous Council Approval

Quote:
Last month, a proposal that would become the tallest residential tower in Edmonton received approval from city council despite concerns about the building's design and perceived lack of community contributions. On Monday, another towering mass proposed for Jasper Avenue NW and 120 Street NW garnered a much warmer reception. The 35-storey development was granted unanimous approval by council, clearing the way for WAM Development Group to proceed with their vision.

Is that an appropriate quote for a CNIB building?
I kid, I kid.

Looking forward to this going ahead. Great looking building.

Whether businesses are looking to beef their bottom line — or just their employees — Jasper Avenue will be a place to go for options.

A news release Wednesday from 9Triple8 Jasper, an office building just northwest of the Shaw Conference Centre, says the building will now include personal training company Body by Bennett, along with the Business Development Bank of Canada.

“Having Body by Bennett and BDC as tenants will further our goal of building a connected business community in a space that meets the needs of the modern professional,” said Jordan Hokanson, owner of 9Triple8 Jasper.

Along with a third tenant, the new additions to the building will total 17,000-square-feet of leased space.

The Body by Bennett site will be the third of its kind in the city while the other two entities are moving from existing downtown locations.

Just noticed in the Rogers Place timelapse cams, 103street has been ripped up. Digging should start soon!

Looking at the photo...I did not even notice the building at first - just the green grass as my eye drew me to it. I don't recall seeing any grass across the road. But is must be there...in a park like setting. Imagining looking across from a unit in the condo they must have a nice view through that expansive glass into the park like setting. Is that grass area permanent? If so a water fountain would add some interest and create a relaxing atmosphere - for drivers going by as well.

The grass area is on the MacEwan campus. It's always been there. Hidden by the large setback, trees, bushes, however.

Dub's building is looking great. I love the glazing system that they are using.

^ Yeah, agreed. Been a long, painful birth, but will be a beautiful baby and very nice addition to 104 Ave.

Went for a walk downtown and 3 times I was stopped by these young Church of God dweebs. "Excuse me we're from the Church of God..." at this point I walk away without saying anything and they quietly move on. I've only encountered them occasionally, but these days there seems to be an infestation of them!
