Aside from the brighter (silver?) finish, there seemed to be a few more vertical lines and expression to give it a more finished look. Just my opinion.
I don't believe it was ever to be silver. I think the confusion is due to the fact that the rendering is at a sunset which often distorts the colour.

Everyone's favorite slumlord arrested again
http://globalnews.ca/news/2832288/controversial-edmonton-landlord-faces-more-charges/

Quote:
Abudullah Shah, also known as Carmen Pervez, was arrested Friday and charged with a slew of offences, including careless use of a firearm.
Edmonton police executed a search warrant on a property near 93 Street and 111 Avenue on Friday afternoon.
Ammunition, an edged weapon and stolen property were found and seized, EPS said.

Shah, 36, was arrested and charged with two counts of careless use of a firearm, possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public, two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000 and three counts of breaching recognizance.
I have no idea why this fucker continues to be allowed to stay in business.

It's been a rough year for ol' Carmen. Between all the criminal charges and the trouble he's been having getting permits approved now that all the incompetent and corrupt folks are being routed out of the city's planning infrastructure bureaucracy..

Well then it certainly is misleading. I've seen a lot of renderings of this building (as we all have), from the RFP to current form and they really don't show it as dark as it is now. Just my opinion.

Sunrise or not, rendering looks similar to the bell tower, and nothing like the actual product. not a big deal. just disapointed.

I prefer the darker look to contrast Bell.

apparently you don't get sarcasm. I'm not comparing the two. Just making a statement that has been ridiculed many times in the past. I remember when the staples was first built as a "temporary" building, that lasted 20 years.

I'm expressing my disappointment that they could have done a better job to address 104 ave - I find the north elevation of the tower boring. I'm no expert, but i think too many people here give these guys a free ride just because of the volume of projects they are building.

I'm more fond of the curve in concept than in execution. It looks a little paunchy.

^^I think the North elevation is beautiful. It is also curved except for the Northwest corner. Which the split in the North elevation, from the curved to the flat portion, gives it a very cool and unique look. Aslo, it is very surprising how much the color of this building changes in different lighting throughout the day. During sunset you would really think it is actually grey, no green at all.

I agree about the curve on the North side - looks great. But it is dark - like the TD Tower used to be - monolithic dark - and TD Tower has since been broken up so to avoid the dark monolithic and word of week "mordor" look lol...

It is a bit true that posters on here are "the we are legion" and tend to think same way about aggressive building in our City and apt to cut developers and designers some slack (notwithstand the deserved beating given to Procura and George lol)... for major projects as compared to some other websites. I don't have an issue with that...

The hoard mentality can sometimes be a bit much. Aaron Sorkin, along with others in a similar fashion, said that “Stupid people surround themselves with smart people. Smart people surround themselves with smart people who disagree with them." Unfortunately now and again we forget how to be civil when disagreeing with others, as passion temporarily trumps civility. Just remember, that the worst case scenario should always be that you become more resolute in your beliefs. While the best case scenario is that your beliefs become stronger through evolution driven by new information and ideas.
