Is the red brick or stucco? Who am I kidding this is in Edmonton, I think I know the answer. If it's brick then it's bland but passable. If that's 4 stories of red stucco then fail.

Avril's a decade late to the Japanese culture appropriation party. Gwen Stefani did it much better with her Harajuku girls in '05. The asian back up dancers here look bored and uncomfortable and can't dance. Very awkward.

Is it wrong that I actually kinda find Avril hot in this video?

^^You can find you a corner like that in probably every North American city > 50,000 people. Especially out of the core. It's the ugly stick that planners and corporations have been hitting our cities with for decades.

True. But what does London offer a visitor that any of our other identical suburban cities doesn't? What feature makes it interesting or unique? I heard they have a Shakespeare festival or something but otherwise I plead complete ignorance about what there is to do or see there.

It's not "ugly", but I think part of the reason that folks from London, K-W, Hamilton, and probably Guelph, don't spend much time in each other's cities is because they are fairly comparable in terms of the amenities they offer. I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times in my life that I have been to London or Hamilton for something not family-related. Plus Toronto is in easy reach, if a bit more of a slog in London's case.

When I think of London, I think of the university, the Grand Theatre, and Storybook Gardens, in that order. I'm sure they have the regular complement of summer festivals (doesn't everyone these days?). Also an urban core that feels more like a "city" than either Downtown Kitchener or Uptown Waterloo.

Why has red brick become so unpopular? A red brick building can be ugly, as a building of any material can be ugly, but I actually like red brick as a building material.

maybe for Calgary forumers but, it's easy to understand why. It's main usage there is for creating heritage knockoffs.

Yes in these parts red or orange brick is synonymous with Stampetecture. Thankfully it seems to be less popular these days but the early 00's left a terrible legacy of modern condo towers plopped on top of fake red warehouse buildings and hokey pokey 🞵🞵🞵🞵 like the BMO centre or Cowboys Casino.

I remember when the East Side Mario's across the road used to be an Olive Garden. Such a downgrade and East Side's made that building look terrible.

The crosswalk is simply ridiculous. Are we at a theme park? Traffic and pedestrian things shouldn't be changed like that for safety reasons.
