Funny, I know of two of these in Stratford. You'd think that being in the snow belt and getting practically the same amount of snow as Montreal that they'd be more common here, but no, you rarely see them anywhere in Ontario.

Is it denial? Aesthetic quibbling? Maybe a tiny bit, but I actually think this has more to do with innovative thinking in Quebec. Plus, in Quebec they don't leave them up in the summer, so they really are concerned with aesthetics anyway. They probably just figure that convenience supersedes looks during the winter.

I thought most Ontario cities had banned them.

K-C-W takes a back seat to no one when it comes to ugly! To be fair, however, I find that clocktower office building (built years ago and still never fully occupied) to be more insipid that truly ugly. The hydro towers and adjacent transformer station add a nice touch to that whole area.

haha yes to be fair, I don't think its nearly as bad as some others, just the fact that it has a dumb clocktower makes it belong on this thread.

The shopping centers always make me shutter though...plus you're right the surroundings don't help at all.

That Clocktower office is hilarious. Pales in comparison to the sheer malevolence of Clockzilla though.

Also, are you telling me those 3 streetviews are not the same power centre? That's insane that they would copy and paste that particular look into different developments. As bad as power centres in general are, here at least they have different exteriors. They aren't all just exact clones of one another.

Here for example is the ridiculously named East Hills (a new development East of the city in the bald 🞵🞵🞵 prairie with not a hill in sight). In spite of its awful form it actually has semi decent materials and building envelope design.

The first 2 are the same one just across the parking lot from another. The 3rd one is different though.

Yikes. I see that the cancer has spread, from Milton to KW and to London. Could be a bad case of Powercentreitis, of which there is a pandemic in Ontario.
