Until the sale date and the deed is recorded it's not sold. Right they have a reservation for the penthouse- as the article says it WILL be the record holder once they close, if they close.

I can't help but think REAL high speed rail (e.g. Maglev) from Boston down to DC will do wonders to speed this awesome development plan up. Hoping some early pieces of this plan get develop within the next 2-3 years. And, this is what Philly needs to cement its status as THE Science Center. Connect that with the future of STEM education and jobs-I can see the time-frame get shaved off by 10 years.

A few other goodies that might interest you related to 30th Street Station.

1) Short film:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSGVk0WDXS8

2) Executive summary book of the plan (full plan report is available on the project website as well):
http://static1.squarespace.com/static/53...Plan+Marketing+Book_June2016_7x9_web.pdf

3) 360 VR renderings that were released at the press event but aren't yet on the project website. Only works in Chrome or Firefox, not IE. The little arrows on the left and right allow you to shuffle around to other renderings.

30 District Plan

Just read the entire report. I want to be realistic but I feel like I'm going to piss some people off lol.

All I will say is 190 pages of plans / pictures, and 2.5 paragraphs of financial feasibility in appendix 4.7.2 with no backup provided

I will admit though - the pictures are very pretty

There is an entire report devoted to economic analysis, but it won't be made public at this time.

They can write all the economic analysis they want but doesn't it come down to big time tenants choosing to be here? Is the whole thing a KOZ? What companies are being targeted?

Definitely not going to build this thing on spec, that's a given.

You're thinking way too ahead of the game right now. The first building isn't supposed to start construction until ~2030. A lot of this won't even start until Schuylkill Yards is finishing construction ~20 years from now.

Also, only about 1/3 of this will be office space and lab space/institutional space. The remainder will be hotel and residential space. We're looking about 6 million square feet of office space.

In 35 years? That's more than doable even with the Schuylkill Yards, UCity Square, and plenty of other developments throughout the city happening simultaneously.

WOW! Nice. Okay, that's my response. 2 words only.

I've got my tongue in my cheek, wondering is that 35 years? or 35 light years?
Ha! either way, I won't be around to see it.
I'll be lucky to see the first tower break ground.

The video starts off with a downer.....and that is...
Seeing Jannie Blackwell start off the hoorah.

Okay, well all is not a sad situation.
Maybe in my afterlife I'll come back and take a peek.

What an AWESOME surprise to come home to! The 30th Street District Plan looks amazing. If this, along with Schuylkill Yards and UCity Square, come to fruition, then there will be no need to worry about how the skyline stretches towards the Delaware as it will stretch nicely with all of this development and existing towers in Market West (although I welcome as much tall development east of Broad as possible!)!

The tower behind 30th Street is Cira II, right? New design it appears, I like it. The supertall by Cira I is a real stunner. Anyway, does anyone know where Cira II fits into this? Is its own project? Not part of Schuylkill Yards, I know that - but it' not a part of this "other Schuylkill yards" plan is it?
