and, if circulated, was that to all of your members or just your board or just the planning committee? because it's not on the decl website and the open house isn't on the decl calendar. there is however, a large "goodbye gravel, hello green" banner for alex decoteau park.

and what - if anything - did decl communicate to those 18,000 people who live downtown but are not on your planning committee/board/membership? or to the more than 80,000 people that work downtown but don't live downtown? or to those that don't work or live downtown but have pretty large investments and who are picking up a large part of the evergrowing tab here?

really???

maybe it's a reflection of our age but it's that kind of trite, condescending treatment of everything you don't agree with regardless of any inconsistencies behind what you agree with or don't from one day to the next that make 240glt and i start to wonder why we care so much about what we turn over for the next generation when the next generation doesn't seem to as long as they get enough patios and resto-bars and interviews.

I don't really think it's an age thing, more a growth/maturity thing. I'm in the same age range as many of the "Downtown Uber Alles" crowd, but we were a lot closer ideologically when I first started coming around the forums. I'm still a centrally-minded person, but I understand that moving the city forward is a give & take game of inches.

My life & priorities have changed & my viewpoint has been softened by interactions with many people of different stripes in & around Edmonton. Other people seem to be stuck in the same mindset as they were a decade ago. Same mindset, same car, same phone, same condo, same, same, same. It's easy to get complacent & comfortable in a cozy rut.

So how about those pedways? Met with the COE this AM to provide some DECL input as to how they interact with the Capital City Downtown Plan now and moving forward, how they should be designed or integrated and what the future system looks like.

Good to see more attention and thought being given to these.

Not the tower portion, no. This steel is for the podium portion on top of the completed section of the parkade.

Yes thats the podium, the Tower may not be at grade until at least Sept. That is when I should be back on site.

I'm presuming that the tower will be concrete, correct? That would make sense especially for the multi-res component.

Citizens are invited to an Open House about a proposed amendment to the Central McDougall/Queen Mary Park Area Redevelopment Plan (ARP) and rezoning for several properties in the Queen Mary Park neighbourhood.

Monday, June 20, 2016
Time: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Location: Edmonton Chinese Baptist Church, Basement, 11112 109 Avenue NW

The site is bounded by 106 Avenue NW, 105 Avenue NW, 101 Street NW and 104 Street NW with the municipal addresses of 10524,10530,10550 - 102 Street NW; 10546, 10572, 10578, 10584 - 103 Street NW; 10525 - 104 Street NW; and 10230 - 105 Avenue NW. (see map)

The purpose of the application is to provide the opportunity for a temporary surface parking lot for up to 10 years. In order to accommodate this, an amendment to Central McDougall/Queen Mary Park ARP and (DC1) Site Specific Development Control Provision is required.

The Open House will be an opportunity to learn more about the proposal and provide your feedback to the City and applicant. Feedback will be summarized in a report to City Council before they make their decision on the application.
