It definitely gives Tech Square a cohesive look...hopefully the new building will be similar.

They've been there for a few weeks at least. Hopefully that one starts moving along. Be great to help connect that part of West Peacthree more to Tech. It'll also be nice to have the sidewalk be full width over there.

Does anyone have any update on 525 North Avenue?

The site was demoed months ago and I haven't seen any activity since then.

Georgia Tech Foundation to acquire Midtown’s historic Biltmore.

The Georgia Tech Foundation said Monday it has a deal in place to buy Atlanta’s historic Biltmore Hotel on West Peachtree Street near Technology Square.
The 1920s building appears destined to become a formal part of Tech Square, the research university’s hive of technology startups. Tech plans to incorporate the facility into Tech Square and the Biltmore will retain its historic status, the release said. The former hotel, which is now largely a place for events in its ballrooms and loft office space for start-ups and other technology firms such as Pindrop.

I actually asked my friend yesterday. He said before some employees had already started transferring to other stores. I heard that it should have been demoed and start construction by now. I'm sure something delayed it. Lets hope it happens soon. Waiting on permitting maybe or a delay on permitting?

They could always tear down the parking deck and build something in the north east corner.

Per the AJC. Looks like the Metropolitan Center site is moving forward again.

Few details were released Monday about the project, but it’s clear MetLife plans to be patient with site development. The company started assembling the land there in 2006.

The Midtown Heights building on corner of Spring and 17th streets in 2006. The release said that MetLife and JLL have started conceptual design work and planning, with an expected development cycle of more than 10 years.
....kind of confuses me. Guess we'll have awhile to wait.

Based on the development time scale it sounds like we may see a multi-phase spec office and residential development like Alliance Center.

Yea, the Business Chronicle makes it more clear. It will be a phased project over a 10-year span.

I like this building, mainly because it's a Peachtree-fronting building that's something other than steel and glass. It's a nice, imposing structure right up on the street with nice looking retail space on front.

It does, however, have a lot of dead space facing the side street. =(

One Museum Place property values will increase substantially if the Colony Square development turns out really nice and an Apple Store actually goes where they want it to go.

I like the way this is turning out. I know some malign the 'smallness' of it but I think the scale is pretty perfect. can't wait to see the completed product.

i think they ought to tear down the parking deck and turn it into an open park plaza that fronts 5th and cypress. the cypress street pint and plate will be right next to the park.
