We've gone over this before in the Canada forum but this kind of describes the "only in Quebec*" style that house just oozes. It's certainly not... boring, to say the least.

Anyone know for sure who lived there. Looking at the gallery of photos the house looks very uncomfortable to live in. That movie room seating looks like they cheaped out.

I suspect that's something you could find in many cities that are home to wealthy first generation immigrants from a number of Mediterranean and other countries.

That Brossard house looks like it was designed in the Sims. Max stats for the couch and max price tag! The only nod to comfort seems to be that pink couch in the kitchen/dining room, which is on the exact opposite end of the spectrum of bad taste.

The Sandman Hotel is just part of the Longueuil skyline. I never altered it. The way Clockzilla crops it puts some emphasis on it though (which is unintentional).

I was reminded of this thread when I noticed that the official 2016 tourist guide for the Townships has, as its two pictures of choice, on the front page, people dining in a vineyard with Orford and lakes in the background, and on the back page, the Résidence Soleil of downtown (with the river gorge and dam).

I had an interior laugh imagining the equivalent tourist guide for Laval featuring theirs...

Three things St. John's does a lot outside of the designated heritage areas, from a short run to a friend's in Riverhead neighbourhood just now.

Very small parking lots in the front, making them difficult for vehicles to use. Not only is this horrid from an urban planning perspective, but putting them in the back would be easier for vehicles to boot.

Completely out-of-place infill to replace blocks that burn down, always with parking lots that are suddenly necessary despite the previous businesses there not needing them.

And shit like this.

Thank God the City controls every detail of what people can do with their homes in the Heritage areas or this sort of thing would be downtown too.
