That's definitely an odd tear down. I wonder what the story is? Houses in Albert Park tend to be pretty well built and on solider ground than many areas of Regina (especially the South portions.)

Hopefully they do a better job there than they did in Windsor Place in the SE. House being built is really too big for the lot. To access one garage, they have to drive over the neighbours driveway. (Hopefully the link works. The street view shows from last year when the lot wasn't finished, but the structure is up. I think it's 1916 Windsor Place.)

Only 43 years old. Lot is huge though (18,326 square feet) with pool. They probably paid over $800K for it.

Do you know what's going on at the other end of Windsor Place? The empty lot sure stands out in the aerial view.

Google street view links don't always open in the right rotation for me. The house with the stone facade and three dormers on the 2nd floor is being knocked down?

The link works fine for me. That is one odd house. The street view makes it look like they will need to drive over the neighbors driveway but the earth view makes it look a bit better angle wise for the driveways. But that house is gargantuan. Is it a house or is it the new CSIS office? The house generally seems a bit skimpy on windows - lots of dark rooms for nefarious activities.

Conexus have had this in mind of a few years now. I guess the formal RFP the University sent out was simply a pretext to allow Conexus to go forward. I still think it's bullshit with the amount of available space downtown.

Those driveway angles are pretty common for some cul de sacs.

There's better info in the LP article:

Timmons said the proposed new building is still in the planning stages. “But the vision is to build a new building to the west and behind Darke Hall. It would include Conexus office space, a joint atrium with Darke Hall, accessibility enhancements for Darke Hall, a business incubator and other synergies as identified in the design and consultation process.” Some of the changes include the demolition of parts of the campus because damage to the gallery building and the back of Conservatory were not restorable. Timmons said the new build will be blend into the existing architecture of the century old buildings both inside and outside.

This is a great plan love it there calling it the massey theatre of the west and it preserves the beautiful building , the rebuild is close to downtown

I drove past it last night and it looks like they are putting in giant underground fuel tanks. I'm assuming it will be a gas station/convenience store.

Haven't startedyet, but I've heard they're still moving forward with the project.

Rumbling is that it's being called The Vu.

Low income affordable housing. They are probably cisterns. Somehow low income people can afford fancy green tech that the rest of us can't.

No, rotate to the right a bit. It's the one with the brick fascade (Volkswagen SUV in the driveway). 62 Lowry Pl.

The home is currently a stick frame with exposed plywood. Looks like they're building a large two storey something-or-other. I can't make out a design plan yet.

Alair Homes has finally started work on rebuilding it. The main floor is starting to be constructed.

Maybe I was confused. I did not know 62 Lowry also had a pool. I think this may be the one. Pretty expensive tear down. Great lot.

Very strange, indeed. I hope they don't put a east-end style sardine-can megahouse on the lot, that area has great character and unique style. Those homes are huge but with good character, something almost all new homes in Regina lack (being that giant cubes pass for nice homes these days, for builders).
